Both Dallas and Carolina have been good to bettors in 2021. Combined, the teams are 6-0 against the spread. In addition, the Panthers are 8-0 ATS in their last eight road games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog. Dallas, however, is 4-11 ATS in their previous 15 games against teams with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their previous four games in October.

The total in this one is interesting. Carolina’s offense seems to be clicking under Sam Darnold — however, the under is 4-0 in the Panthers’ last four games following a win. Dallas, on the other hand, has seen the total go over in 8 out of its last 10 home games. It is hard to predict a low-scoring affair in this one, even with Matt Rhule’s defense starting to come together.

Panthers vs. Cowboys prediction

One thing that we know for sure is that the Cowboys — especially at home — will likely be getting a ton of public action. America’s Team is consistently one of the highest-betted teams on a weekly basis. Is that merited in this game?

The short answer is yes. The Panthers vs. Cowboys may seem close on paper, but the quality of these two teams is significantly different. Yes, the Panthers are coming into this game undefeated. However, take a look at who they have beaten. Their first win was against the New York Jets, a team ranked near the bottom of PFN’s 2021 Power Rankings. After that, they had a good win against the Saints, followed by a win over the Houston Texans, a team also near the bottom of our power rankings.

Dallas, meanwhile, played the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers close in Week 1. Then, the Cowboys picked up wins on the road against the Chargers and at home against the Eagles. The caliber of opponents is very different. In addition, the Panthers are coming into this game with some serious injury concerns. They will be without star RB Christian McCaffrey after he was injured in Week 3. They also lost a key defensive weapon in Jaycee Horn this past week.

Look for the Cowboys to take advantage of a banged-up Panthers squad and hand them their first loss at home in AT&T Stadium.

Prediction: Cowboys 31, Panthers 24
