The Carolina Panthers, alongside Bryce Young, are still in the midst of a rebuild, finishing last in the NFC South once again last year with a 5-12 record.
Despite this, Young’s stock has been on the rise following an impressive second half of the season, bringing him closer than ever to establishing himself as the face of the franchise and the quarterback of the future in Carolina.
But that’s not the only reason he’s making headlines. As an ambassador for both the NFL and the Panthers, Young is proving himself as a quarterback who leads with kindness.

Bryce Young Goes Viral for Helping Kid at Football Camp
In a video posted to the Carolina Panthers’ TikTok, Young can be seen helping a lost youth player at a football camp. The kid is unclear about where his group is, and Young ushers him around while giving him some valuable life advice.

Leading NFL huddles isn’t quite the same thing as being a camp counselor, but it’s a strong bit of evidence that Young’s character is admirable. More than anything, that’s what gets players to respect their leaders on the field.
Speaking of the NFL, Young began turning his career around last season after a calamitous start to his Panthers tenure.
Before getting benched after Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, Young had started 18 games and had thrown for 3,122 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, completing 59.3% of his passes with a passer rating of 70.9.
In 10 games after regaining the starting job, Young threw for 2,104 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions, completing 61.8% of his attempts with a passer rating of 88.9. Young also finished with a No. 28 ranking and D+ grade (67.8) in PFSN’s QB+ metric; though not an impressive finish, it was ahead of the likes of Jameis Winston, Trevor Lawrence, and rookie first overall pick Caleb Williams.
Currently, the Panthers have one of the shallowest wide receiver rooms in the NFL. Last year’s first-round pick, Xavier Legette, showed flashes in his rookie season, but he ultimately recorded just 49 receptions for 497 yards and four touchdowns. He’s far from a proven WR1.
The current depth chart has him flanked by 34-year-old veteran Adam Thielen (62/615/5 receiving line in 2024) and undrafted youngster Jalen Coker (32/478/2). Longtime Dave Canales disciple David Moore was re-signed by the team as depth this offseason.
In the most recent seven-round mock draft at PFSN, the Panthers are expected to focus on overhauling their defense early before turning their attention to the skill positions in the middle rounds.
The mock draft eventually has Carolina selecting Colorado wide receiver LaJohntay Wester with the No. 146 overall pick near the beginning of the fifth round.
He’ll need more help than that, but it’s clear that Young is evolving into the quarterback the Panthers thought he was when they took him No. 1 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. One thing that no one should doubt is his character and kind-hearted nature.
