How Is Taylor Landfair Impacting the Undefeated Huskers?

Once the top overall recruit in the 2020 class, Landfair spent four years at the University of Minnesota before joining the Nebraska Volleyball program in 2024. This season, she has made a significant impact for the Huskers, competing in 59 sets over 14 matches while averaging 2.03 kills per set with a .314 hitting percentage.

In the Nebraska Volleyball team’s recent match against Minnesota, Landfair recorded 11 kills as the Huskers secured another victory. Under head coach Dani Busboom Kelly, the team remains undefeated with a 24-0 record. Their next match is against UCLA on Nov. 14.

What Did It Mean for Landfair to Play Against Her Former Team?

Returning to her old home court, Landfair delivered a strong performance against the Minnesota Gophers on Saturday. Her time with Minnesota was highly decorated, earning honors that included AVCA All-America First Team and the 2022 Big Ten Player of the Year award. The return was a meaningful one for the veteran hitter.

According to Sports Illustrated, Landfair shared her thoughts on playing at Minnesota one last time:

“I do love playing in this gym, and it’s probably one of my favorite places I’ve ever played in since I’ve been in college. It feels good, because I wanted to finish off on a bang.”

Seeking a new challenge, Landfair chose to leave Minnesota before her senior year to find a different environment for her final collegiate seasons. The departure of head coach Keegan Cook in 2022 also played a role in her decision, reinforcing that a transfer to Nebraska was the right move for her future.
