Jordan Chiles Left in Awe As Normani Stuns with Unexpected Cartwheel

Jordan Chiles wheeled away in shock as her friend and singer, Normani, performed a cartwheel on a balance beam. Chiles and Normani share a close friendship that dates back to the Tokyo Olympics, with the singer sending her a message on Instagram expressing her support.

The two teamed up for “Switching Stages,” a Billboard and The Players’ Tribune collaboration. Chiles taught Normani gymnastics moves, while Normani taught Chiles choreography to her hit “All Yours.”

How Did Jordan Chiles React To Normani Nailing A Cartwheel?

In an Instagram video from The Players’ Tribune, Chiles explained the correct cartwheel form on a balance beam, noting its difficulty. Normani, a former gymnast, completed it easily, leaving Chiles shocked.

“Cartwheeling on a balance beam is not as easy as it looks…. Unless you’re @normani. The singer makes it look so effortless that even two-time Olympic gymnast @jordanchiles is shook.”

Normani is known for her dance skills and stage presence, having appeared on “Dancing With The Stars.” Chiles, who is currently competing in her senior year with the UCLA Bruins, is also competing on the show and has received acclaim for her performances. She last competed on Week 9 of the show alongside her partner, Ezra Sosa, performing an impressive jazz routine on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.

How Chiles Reacted When Normani Commented On One Of Her Posts

During the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Chiles was thrilled after Normani followed her on Instagram and reacted to one of her posts, leaving the Olympian star-struck before podium training. According to the “Today Show,” Chiles said she couldn’t believe it.

“I woke up at the crack of dawn … It was like 3:00 in the morning. I looked at my phone, so I was like, it’s 3:00. There was a notification, and I was like, OK. So I went to sleep, woke up, was like, scrolling, scrolling, went to my DMs, and it (read) ‘You have eight DMs.’ OK. It said ‘Normani’ and I was like ‘Nah, this ain’t real. This ain’t real.'”

“I literally looked at my phone … It was a picture of us, me and Simone (Biles), and (Normani) did the heart-eye emoji. I was like, ‘Oh my God.'”

At the Tokyo Olympics, Chiles performed impressively as she stepped in for Simone Biles in the team all-around final, making a strong contribution to Team USA’s silver medal win. This marked her Olympic debut, eventually leading to her international breakthrough as she became a mainstay on the team.
