    ‘People Needed to See That’ — Jordan Chiles on the Heartfelt DWTS Dance Featuring Her Father

    American gymnast Jordan Chiles couldn’t contain her emotions as she shared a heartfelt dance with her father, Timothy Chiles, on “Dancing With the Stars.” Chiles was joined by her father and her partner, Ezra Sosa, on the dance floor, where they performed to the song “Daughters” by John Mayer on Dedication Night.

    The dance was a highly emotional moment for Chiles, with many fans in the crowd moved to tears.

    Jordan Chiles Felt ‘People Needed To See’ Father-Daughter Dance

    Chiles made her feelings known about the performance, stating that she felt that “people needed” to see it because of the effort and hard work her father put into rehearsals. In an interview with rugby player Ilona Maher and her sisters on the “House Of Maher” podcast, she said: (11:08 onwards)

    “He honestly was that whole week, like even leading up to it, he was somebody that I was like, you know what, like you’re funny, but you also know like what, like that’s where I get it from. Like I’m like, ‘Oh, that makes a lot more sense.’

    “Like every step, everything that he was doing, he was understanding what Ezra was trying to say. And Ezra did take a risk, just like the judges said, like taking a risk of having my dad in the full dance. Like that was something I felt like a lot of people needed to see.”

    Chiles and Sosa are set to perform next on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4.

    Chiles Reveals What It’s Been Like Working With Sosa

    Chiles recently discussed her DWTS debut as well as what it’s been like working with Sosa on this season of the show. In an interview with PopSugar, Chiles stated that Sosa helps keep her ‘focused’:

    “It has been amazing. Ezra is the right mix of patience, but he also knows how to push me. We laugh a lot … and I mean A LOT in rehearsal, but when it is time to lock in, he keeps me focused. It feels like having a new teammate, and that is something I love. The fact that we get to be on this journey together is everything.”

    Chiles and Sosa have performed well on the show so far, earning consistently high scores, with their best being a 39 out of 40 that they achieved on “Wicked Night” on Oct. 21.
