    Gabby Thomas Finally Breaks Silence With Much-Needed Update on Her Training Return

    Gabby Thomas has been out of the track for several months now, mainly due to her Achilles injury, which also forced her to forgo the World Athletics Championships. However, the reigning 200m Olympic champion shared an update on her fitness and training regimen for her fans.

    Gabby Thomas Reveals the Timeline of Her Comeback to the Track

    Amid her time away from the track, Thomas has kept herself busy by attending major events and track competitions, such as Athlos 2025, where she was also slated to compete. However, with the new season approaching, Thomas has decided to prepare for it and regain her track fitness.

    Thomas recently shared a glimpse of her time on the track with the update that she is set to train for the next season, starting tomorrow, after being away from it for several months now. She wrote, “For those asking- I haven’t started my 2026 training yet. We go tomorrow.”

    The upcoming season will be crucial for Thomas, considering Alexis Ohanian’s league-based Athlos is set to kick off next year. Thomas is one of the primary stakeholders of the league with the likes of Sha’Carri Richardson and Tara Davis-Woodhall.

    Thomas Comments on Her Highly Successful 2024 Olympics Campaign

    Thomas recently spoke about her approach to the Paris Olympics last year, where she achieved immense success with three gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m events. Speaking of her performances, Thomas said that the Paris Olympic campaign was a long time coming for her, mainly due to the hard work she had put in over the years.

    She said, “I was resilient over the last few years, that medal was years in the making. I think what sets me apart from other athletes in the sport is just that ability to bounce back from losing, that ability to learn from each year before, and staying consistent, committed, staying driven, and it paid off.”

    “Tokyo Olympics was such a great experience for me. I went in suddenly as gold medal favorite, and I got a bronze in the 200m, and I think a lot of people see it as a failure for me  but I love that medal, it’s my favorite medal,” Thomas further added, reflecting on her Tokyo Olympics performances a few years back.

    Further in the conversation, Thomas revealed that despite her gold medals, the bronze medal in Tokyo stands out for her as it gave her validation about her prowess on the track.
