Mikaela Shiffrin and Aleksander Kilde shared a touching moment at the Copper Mountain leg of the FIS Ski World Cup. Shiffrin competed in the giant slalom event on Saturday, while her fiancé, Kilde, was there to support her, showcasing their lovely bond.
A similar emotion filled the air at Cooper Mountain two days ago, when Kilde was racing in his super-G event, finishing 24th with Shiffrin on the sidelines. It was an emotional moment for the Norwegian skier, who competed in his first race on the circuit after being away from the slopes for nearly two years due to injuries to his left shoulder and related medical complications.
Mikaela Shiffrin Gets a Two-Time Olympic Medalist in Her Corner at Cooper Mountain
Shiffrin didn’t have a perfect race in Copper Mountain, finishing 14th with a combined time of 2:00.99, as New Zealand’s Alice Robinson clinched the top podium in 1:58.91. However, what captured the spotlight amid the races was the precious interaction between Shiffrin and Kilde.
A recent video shared by Shiffrin’s podcast’s Instagram handle shows Kilde meeting Shiffrin after the race and enjoying a lovely chat.
The caption of the video read, “We love an Aleks hype guy moment.🥰 Thanks for coming out and cheering today! Slalom tomorrow 💃 Bib 4. Also, we’re kinda sad Movember is almost over. It suits @akilde, doesn’t it?! 👨🏻”

Notably, so far in the 2025 season, it can be said that Shiffrin hasn’t found her perfect rhythm in the giant slalom races, finishing fourth in the Soelden event a month ago, before her 14th-place finish in Cooper Mountain.
Shiffrin Speaks Up About Her Second Slalom Victory of the Season in Austria
Barring her giant slalom races, Shiffrin has had a formidable record to boast of in the slalom races, clinching top-podium finishes in both the races she has entered so far. Her most recent slalom victory came in Gurgl, Austria, where she clinched the podium in a combined time of 1:48.11.
Speaking about her performance, Shiffrin said, “I think it’s some of the best slalom skiing I ever did. I had to push so hard, but it was really nice with the sun on the second run. It was pretty much how I expected it, not easy, but I knew the others were pushing, so I had no choice. You have to go.”
“I was so focused on giant slalom over the prep period, trying to get my level back to something worthy in GS races. So, I didn’t get a lot of slalom training, but I got good slalom training,” the American skier further added, reflecting on her slalom training over her offseason.
This slalom victory was Shiffrin’s 66th victory in the discipline so far and 103rd overall in FIS Ski World Cups.

Really? It was not a Super G on Saturday for the women. It was a GS.
