Houston Texans WR Nico Collins picked up right where he left off to begin the season, looking every bit like the team’s WR1. Despite leaving the Texans’ win over the Colts fully healthy, Collins popped up on Thursday’s practice report.
Does Collins have an injury that fantasy football managers should be concerned about?
Latest Injury Update on Nico Collins
It’s always a little scary when the fantasy platforms put that ominous “Q” label next a player’s name. It’s also important to know they do that before official injury designations go out, which happens on Friday afternoon. If a player is limited at practice at any point for any reason other than rest, he’ll get the “Q.”
After having no injury designation on Wednesday, Collins picked one up on Thursday, as he was limited at practice. Fantasy managers can all breathe a sigh of relief, though, as Collins is not actually injured. He is merely dealing with an illness.
Will Collins Play This Week?
Yes. Barring Collins picking up a real injury at practice on Friday, he will play when the Texans host the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.

It’s entirely possible Collins is limited again at practice on Friday. He may sit out altogether. But illnesses rarely keep players out of games, even when they are fresh. The fact that this one is three days before the game means there is no cause for concern. It is highly likely Collins doesn’t even draw a designation on Friday’s official injury report.
Who Are the Other Fantasy Options To Consider on the Texans?
The Texans have no shortage of fantasy weapons. Fantasy managers with Collins do not need to worry about him missing this week’s game. But even with Collins active, Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell, and Joe Mixon are all weekly must-starts.
Even TE Dalton Schultz is a back-end TE1 at fantasy’s weakest position. That is, if he can recover from his ankle sprain in time to take the field.
While Caleb Williams was a complete disaster in his NFL debut, the Bears were still able to win due to what looks like one of the best defenses in the league.
C.J. Stroud is already one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but he will have his work cut out for him to slice up a very strong secondary that picked off Will Levis twice last week, returning one for a touchdown.
