Nick Sirianni will be in unchartered territory during his season opener as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Green Bay Packers on September 7. The Eagles will fly across the Caribbean Sea to South America to play the game in a neutral venue: São Paulo, Brazil.

The team’s sights are set on victory and erasing the bitter taste of the end-of-season 2023 run. Amid the high-stakes atmosphere, Sirianni’s wife, Brett Ashley Cantwell, has steadfastly supported the Eagles head coach. She has always stood by his side through the ups and downs of his NFL career.

    Who Is Brett Ashley Cantwell?

Brett grew up in Springfield, Missouri, where she also went to college and became a schoolteacher. Before meeting Sirianni, Missouri was the only place she had ever known. She was raised by her parents Brad and Debbie Cantwell, and has two sisters, Justine and Courtney.

It’s not a classic love-at-first-sight story. The duo lived in the same apartment complex in Kansas City, given their encounters weren’t one to remember. Cantwell told Colts.com that Sirianni told her about him working with the Kansas City Chiefs a few times, only for her to not care about that.

“When you first met me, you used the Chiefs card,” she likes to say to her husband.

“Hey, it worked!” Sirianni responded. “Whatever I needed to do to get my wife.”

“I didn’t remember him, but he remembered me,” Cantwell replied, adding that they ran into each other a few times. “He was like, ‘I work with the Chiefs.’ I didn’t care at all.”

Her sister Courtney loved Nick and convinced Brett to go out on a date with him. The couple became serious pretty quickly and became engaged a year later.

The couple married at the Schweitzer United Methodist Church, Missouri, in June 2013. They immediately left for California when Nick was hired as the San Diego Chargers quality control coach. The family moved from California to Indianapolis shortly after when Nick became the offensive coordinator for the Colts.

When Nick was hired as the Eagles coach in 2018, the family then moved to New Jersey, their current home.

Cantwell Says Children Are Sirianni’s Biggest Supporters

Brett and Nick have three children together, Jacob, Taylor, and Miles. Brett ended her teaching career and became a full-time mother. Brett has no regrets about ending her teaching career. Although she loved it, she loved Nick more and was happy to make that sacrifice for him.

Brett prefers to stay out of the spotlight but supports Nick fully. She has moved to three different cities for him and has made the effort to bond with other NFL wives. She finds support in the NFL wives because they can relate to her experiences.

“We’re all in the same situation. That’s what makes it easier, I think,” she told Colts.com in 2019. “There are so many other coaches’ wives that have kids and that’s an instant connection right there.”

Cantwell remains the rock that holds the family together, ensuring that wherever Sirianni’s career takes them, home is always where they are together.
