Sidney Crosby Makes Opinion Clear On Blue Jays Falling To Dodgers Juggernaut In World Series

Game 7 of the World Series promised fireworks, and it delivered over and above those promises. But things didn’t end too well for the Canadian section of MLB fans as the Toronto Blue Jays succumbed to the Los Angeles Dodgers juggernaut.

Sidney Crosby also tuned in to watch his beloved Blue Jays take on the Dodgers in a game that ultimately didn’t pan out for Toronto. Prior to the showdown against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain shared a few thoughts on the aftermath of Game 7 of the World Series.

Sidney Crosby Empathizes With Blue Jays’ Game 7 Loss

Crosby, who caught the game live at Rogers Centre alongside former NHLer P.K. Subban, was gutted for the Blue Jays.

“You just feel how bad everybody wanted to see them win. It’s too bad the way it ended,” Crosby told reporters.

“Obviously, anything can happen in Game 7, but it was such an easy team to root for. You could tell they were a tight group, just the way they played and how everyone chipped in at different points. It was a lot of fun to follow that. I was hoping they would find a way to pull it off. Unfortunately, they didn’t.”

With their second straight win at the World Series, the Dodgers became the first MLB team to go back-to-back since the 1999-2000 New York Yankees.

Hurting Penguins Set Their Sights on Maple Leafs

The Penguins have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL this season, defying expectations across the board.

“We’ve been going into every game probably with something to prove a little bit. Feel like the expectations weren’t that high for us coming in. So, I think we’ve competed hard,” Crosby said of the Penguins’ effort.

Before the start of the season, several analysts and fans had pegged Pittsburgh to be bottom dwellers with one eye on bringing Penn State sensation Gavin McKenna to town in the 2026 NHL Draft.

Instead, the Penguins have made an 8-3-2 start to the season, putting the rest of the league on notice. While that record is remarkable for October hockey, the Penguins were brought crashing down to earth as the Winnipeg Jets humbled them 5-2 over the weekend.

That game saw Evgeni Malkin pick up a hefty $5,000 fine for a two-handed slash on Logan Stanley, his second such incident in less than a year.

The Penguins will look to put the disappointment of that loss to the Jets behind them when they face off against the Leafs on Monday night, 7:30 pm EST.
