Not only did the Colorado Avalanche force a deciding Game 7 in their opening round series against the Dallas Stars, but the St. Louis Blues have now done the same against the Winnipeg Jets.
The Blues once again chased Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck from the net, winning in decisive fashion by a 5-2 final score at Enterprise Center. The Vezina Trophy nominee who led all NHL goaltenders with eight shutouts during the regular season has now been pulled three times in six playoff games.
The winner of the Avalanche-Stars series will play the winner of the Blues-Jets series.
Jets Fans Cannot Believe What They Witnessed in Game 6
Jets fans were in disbelief over what transpired in Game 6 against the Blues, with many already appearing to throw in the towel before Game 7 even begins.
This fan ripped the entire team as not being tough enough, saying, “These guys are soft. They are not built for the playoffs.”
Another fan referenced the “curse” of winning the President’s Trophy, saying, “The curse of the president’s trophy in full force, gonna lose to a team who’s just happy to be here.”
One fan believes Hellebuyck is being overworked during the regular season and could be fatigued, saying, “We need to stop playing Hellebuyck 60+ games a year you can see him slightly start to fade the last month of the season every year and come playoff time he’s burnt out rather be the 3rd seed with a fresh goalie then the one seed and be cooked.”
This Jets fan sarcastically thanked Winnipeg, saying, “Congrats on choking the series, yet again, during, yet again, a crucial game. Love literally having no other choice but to be on the ball for game 7. Yippie.”
Finally, this fan was left searching for answers, imploring, “The best team in the regular season is going to a seventh game. This is painful. Can someone explain to me, as if I were 6 years old, how this happened?”

Jets Coach Scott Arniel Defends Connor Hellebuyck Despite Pulling Him For The Third Time
Despite having to pull Hellebuyck from the net for the third time in the series after he allowed five goals to the Blues in just 40 minutes of play, Jets head coach Scott Arniel deflected blame from Hellebuyck.
“Tonight wasn’t about Connor,” Arniel said. “We imploded in front of him.”
The Jets and the Blues will play a decisive Game 7 at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg on Sunday evening; puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
