The St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets will face off in the series-deciding Game 7 in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs on Sunday, May 4.
The Jets, Presidents’ Trophy winners for the best regular season record this season, have been pushed to the limit by the Blues, as St. Louis has managed to find the form that earned them a playoff spot in the first place.
The teams will face off at Canada Life Centre, the Jets’ home ice.
Winnipeg Coach on Whether Mark Scheifele Will Play in Game 7
Jets head coach Scott Arniel recently shared an update about the availability of forward Mark Scheifele. According to a post on X by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Arniel said Scheifele will not dress for Game 7 of the series.

Scheifele has played in five of the series’ six games and scored two goals with four assists. He did not play in the sixth game of the series either, after reportedly sustaining an undisclosed injury in Game 5. Scheifele was the second leading scorer for Winnipeg during the regular season, with 39 goals and 48 assists in 82 games.
St. Louis is looking to win an incredible fifth straight game 7 in the contest.
“With my experience, I just think every time you go through it, the more grateful you are for the opportunity,” Blues coach Jim Montgomery said.
“The first time you’re going through it, you’re just really excited. I think the experience gives you the knowledge of what to expect, when to expect it, how to handle the peaks and the valleys that are going to naturally happen, not only within the game but between the days leading up to the game.”
The Jets have been pushed to a Game 7 just once before in their franchise’s history and emerged victorious. They will be looking to repeat that result, taking advantage of their home ice advantage. Both sides have won all three of their home games in the series so far.
“I just feel we’ve been really solid all year at home,” Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg said via NHL.com. “We know that, and we’re comfortable playing here, and the crowd really helps as well. I think we just have to use that home-ice advantage to our advantage and just make sure we stick to the simple details and try not to waver.”
The winning team will face the Dallas Stars, who registered a 4-2 comeback win against the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 of their series on Saturday, May 3.
