The Edmonton Oilers will try to even their playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings at Rogers Place on Sunday, April 27. After dropping the first two games, the Oilers bounced back with a 7-4 win on home ice Friday, April 25. The Canadian team is looking to eliminate the Kings for the fourth straight season in the playoffs.
Projected Lineups for Oilers vs. Kings | Game 4
The Oilers will look to even the first-round series with another win, while the Kings aim to regain control and set up a potential series clincher on home ice. Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
“I think the big thing in playoffs is you gotta stay even-keeled,” Oilers defenseman John Klingberg said via NHL.com. “You have a great win like yesterday, and today, it’s just a matter of getting prepared for tomorrow. So I think we’re a veteran team, and, obviously, going to the Finals last year, I think that helps a lot with just knowing what you have to do. But every game is going to be different and the outcome is going to be different as well.”
The Kings are trying to snap their three-season playoff losing streak against the Oilers. They came out strong in this year’s series, surviving a late comeback led by Oilers captain Connor McDavid to win Game 1, 6-5, and rolling to a 6-2 victory in Game 2.
“Each year is different, but I feel like we have a bit more swagger this year, just generally,” Kings coach Jim Hiller told reporters. “I think some of the reporters I’ve talked to from the Edmonton media were telling me before the series started, they talked to some of our guys, and they felt it (swagger) from them.”
On Friday, the Oilers rallied from a 4-3 deficit to notch a 7-4 win, their first victory of the series.
