Connor McDavid’s Wife Draws Attention to Oilers Superstar Joining Exclusive Club Featuring Wayne Gretzky

Connor McDavid reached another major milestone on Monday, becoming the fourth-fastest player in NHL history to rack up 1,100 points. He registered two assists in the Edmonton Oilers’ 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

McDavid got his first assist from a slick pass from behind the net in the first period to Jack Roslovic, who buried a power-play goal to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead. That assist marked McDavid’s 1,100th career point, achieved in just his 726th NHL game. It made him the 69th player in league history to reach the milestone.

Wayne Gretzky (464 games), Mario Lemieux (550), and Mike Bossy (725) are the only other players to have accomplished the feat quicker than McDavid.

Later in the game, McDavid got another assist on Andrew Mangiapane’s goal in the second to push his career points tally to 1,101.

Connor McDavid’s Wife, Lauren Kyle, Shows Some Love Towards Oilers Star’s Milestone

Lauren McDavid took to Instagram to celebrate her husband’s accomplishment, sharing a post that highlighted his achievement of reaching 1,100 career points.

Over his career, McDavid has tallied 364 goals and 736 assists for 1,101 points in 726 games.

The Oilers captain is coming off back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances, both ending in heartbreak against the Florida Panthers.

After signing a two-year, $25 million extension in October, McDavid remains determined to bring a championship to Edmonton, though the team’s start to the season has been less than ideal.

The Oilers currently hold a 6-5-3 record and have dropped three of their last five games.

Despite facing criticism for his limited goal-scoring early this season, McDavid continues to demonstrate his ability to dominate games in other ways. With two assists on Monday, he now has three goals and 16 assists in 14 games.

Jack Roslovic, who scored on McDavid’s milestone assist, shared what it’s like to play alongside the Oilers captain. He said it’s impressive to watch how McDavid operates on the ice and to figure out where to be in order to capitalize on the chances he creates.

“It’s cool to see their process be a part of it, trying to find the open spots for them,” Roslovic said. “It’s one of those things where you just keep on continuously learning what to do and where to be. It’s such an important part of the game, and it’s fun to get the opportunity to be there.”

In his first 10 NHL seasons, Connor McDavid has already built an extraordinary résumé, winning three Hart Trophies, four Ted Lindsay Awards, and the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy in 2022–23.
