Many teams emerged from the opening weeks of the NFL season with winning records while other teams have shown some strong promise. There is still a long road ahead to Super Bowl LV, but which teams are setting the early pace for the 2020 season?

The Early Pace Setters for Super Bowl LV

As many teams have shown early promise, this article covers the two standout teams from the AFC and the two best teams of the NFC. These teams are, in particular, the ones to watch over the coming weeks.

AFC: Kansas City Chiefs

The current Super Bowl champions made a strong start to the 2020 season after going 4-0 in the opening four games.

The Chiefs went 15-4 overall last season as they went on to win Super Bowl LV giving them the second Super Bowl win in their history. It looks as though the Chiefs are keeping the momentum going with every intention of achieving a third. According to the NFL odds on bet365, the Chiefs are the current favorites to retain the Super Bowl crown at 13/4.

They are currently top in the AFC standings, and they are on a 13-match winning streak which stretches back to November 2019 when they were narrowly beaten by the Tennessee Titans.

AFC: Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have started the season with three wins and a loss, with their defeat resulting from the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.  Despite that loss, Baltimore looks strong and will be aiming to replicate their sublime 2019 season, after they finished the regular season with a 14-2 record which was the best in the conference. The Ravens are still the second favorite to win Super Bowl LV with odds of 11/2 at the time of writing.

NFC: Green Bay Packers

Green Bay currently leads the way in the NFC conference standings with a perfect record of four wins from four games. They are also currently showing the best offense across the whole league, with 152 points scored so far. The Packers finished last season with a 14-4 record, a big improvement after disappointing 2017 and 2018 campaigns. When Aaron Rodgers is firing, the Packers are always a threat, so keeping him fit and on good form will be essential if the Packers are to make Super Bowl LV.

NFC: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks continued their immaculate start to the 2020 season with a definitive win at CenturyLink Field over the Dallas Cowboys. Seattle currently has the 2nd most total points in the league with 142 scored so far, second only to Green Bay.

Russell Wilson’s offense is shining for the Seahawks, Wilson set a new NFL record after throwing 14 touchdown passes in the first three opening games, the highest ever. The point of concern for the Seahawks will be their defense, after conceding 109 points in the opening four games. However, with an offense as damaging as the Seahawks, they are still the bookies NFC favorite.

The NFL season is a long one with many twists and turns

There is still a long way to go in the regular season, but the Chiefs and Ravens are teams to look out for in the AFC, and the Packers and Seahawks are looking strong in the NFC. Team momentum can be a strong force in the NFL, but these teams have come out the blocks firing and it would be no surprise to see any of these teams making a strong run for the Super Bowl.
