Just days after the NFL trade deadline, New York Jets running back Breece Hall has fans talking again, but this time for his social media activity.
Trade That Nearly Happened
Hall liked a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) that aimed at Kansas City Chiefs GM Brett Veach, criticizing him for failing to complete a trade for the Jets’ star running back. The post read: “Guy traded a 3rd for Kadarius Toney but Breece Hall is where we draw the line.”
The tweet quickly gained traction, and Hall’s engagement with it only fueled speculation about his growing frustration with the Jets and how close he was to being moved.
>According to multiple league sources, the Chiefs and Jets held serious discussions ahead of the trade deadline. Kansas City reportedly offered a fourth-round pick for Hall, who ranks 27th in PFSN’s RBi, but New York held firm on its asking price of a third-rounder, unwilling to settle for less.
The deal ultimately fell through, but not before Hall made it clear to those close to him that Kansas City was his preferred destination. A pairing with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid’s offense would have positioned Hall to compete for a Super Bowl, something far from the reality of the 1–7 Jets, who are now deep into a full-scale rebuild.
Frustration Boiling Over
Hall’s subtle online activity may seem minor, but it adds another layer to the growing tension between the Jets front office and one of their brightest young stars. Watching his teammates, Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, get traded while he stayed behind appears to have left Hall feeling stuck on a team that is clearly pivoting toward the future.
And from Hall’s perspective, the frustration is understandable. While Kadarius Toney once netted a third-round pick despite limited production, Hall, a dynamic dual-threat back capable of changing games both on the ground and through the air, couldn’t draw that same price tag.
What Comes Next
Whether Hall’s like was simply a moment of emotion or a message to the Jets remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: the relationship between Hall and New York’s front office appears strained.
If the Jets’ rebuild continues and Hall’s desire to compete remains strong, this could be just the beginning of a developing story that stretches well beyond this season.
