In a game where a team loses embarrassingly, it may not be easy to find players who stand out for the losing team. In their 34-10 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints still had three players who managed to stand out.
Here are three Saints who impressed despite the loss.
EDGE Chase Young
Last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chase Young had a fantastic game against a great offensive line. Although it wasn’t as dominant a win, Young was able to make plays all day against the Rams. In the pass rush, Young had a great sack that gave QB Matthew Stafford no chance to make a play, and against the run, he had a tackle for loss. Los Angeles did a great job chipping Young on many of his pass-rush downs, which slowed him down a bit, but that emphasizes how much attention the offense has to give him.
With that sack, Chase Young has accumulated three sacks over the last three weeks. It is the first time in his career that he has recorded a takedown in three consecutive weeks.
It is also the most sacks he has posted in a three game span in his career (3). pic.twitter.com/SxX9zsTCNJ— New Orleans Saints PR (@SaintsPR) November 2, 2025
QB Tyler Shough
The Saints’ offense struggled significantly in this game, and rookie Tyler Shough was part of the reason in the first quarter. However, after that point, he looked much better. When the offensive line held up and HC Kellen Moore put the ball in his hands to make plays, Shough got it done. The pressure issues were still there, and it was nowhere near perfect, but Shough had a decent debut against a really great Rams defense.
RB Devin Neal
Like Young, Devin Neal was a player who stood out last week against the Bucs, and he also had a great game against the Rams. RB Alvin Kamara really struggled in this game, and when Moore finally went with Neal as the rusher, he looked great. Again, the issue was that the Saints did not give him the ball enough, and that cannot continue going forward.
