After having an extremely long injury report all week, the New Orleans Saints have officially listed their inactives for their NFC South matchup against the Carolina Panthers. One of the names previously on the report was RB Alvin Kamara, and now we know if the Saints star will play.
Alvin Kamara’s Status for Week 10
After receiving devastating news that OT Taliese Fuaga would be ruled out for this game, New Orleans needed some injury luck to go their way, and it seems they have gotten that. Kamara will be active for today’s game.
Although there has been some discussion about Kamara’s ankle injury and disappointing play this season, his presence in games remains extremely important. His leadership on the field and the ability to make plays out of nothing are crucial to the Saints’ success, so having him active is essential. Still, against the Panthers, this should be a game where rookie RB Devin Neal can come in and have more rushing snaps.
Other Saints Injury Updates
With the status of Kamara being revealed, New Orleans had a number of other injuries on the report. Officially, Fuaga (who we knew was out), DB Ugo Amadi, TE Jack Stoll, DTs John Ridgeway III and Khristian Boyd, and CB Rejzohn Wright were all ruled out for today’s game. In addition, this means OT Barry Wesley, DT Bryan Bresee, and EDGE Jonah Williams are all active.

Besides Fuaga being ruled out, the most notable status listed is Bresee being active. This season, Bresee ranks #35th among all DTs according to PFSN’s DT Impact metric. Although that ranking may not seem the best, it is by far and away the highest among Saints DTs. Second place in New Orleans is Nathan Shepherd, who ranks 79th among DTs.
If the Saints had any chance of stopping the Panthers’ dynamic run game and disrupting QB Bryce Young through the pass rush, Bresee needed to be on the field, and now he will be.
