Courtland Sutton: ‘Everything’s Right in Front of Us’ the Next Two Games

The Denver Broncos are 9-2, a half game out of first place in the AFC Conference. As the No. 2 seed, though, the Broncos are in control of their destiny. Regardless of what the 10-2 New England Patriots — or any team — does. More on that below.

Importance of Broncos’ Next Two Games

Because the Patriots have a bye in Week 14, the Broncos just have to win the next two games in Weeks 13 and 14 to be the No. 1 seed. Then they’d have to hold it down with four games to go. The Broncos and Patriots will either be tied at 11-2 through 13 games. Or the former will be a game ahead of the latter. Wide receiver Courtland Sutton is aware.

He said, “Everything’s right in front of us, but we gotta make sure we keep the main thing the main thing. And not overlook any situation. Every practice, every meeting, every game is an opportunity for us to get ready for the ultimate goal (of winning the Super Bowl.) Today, we gotta go finish watching film and fix up some things we had at practice today, and then go in and get ready for tomorrow.”

The Broncos’ offense is No. 14 in PFSN’s Offense Impact Score, while the defense is No. 1 in PFSN’s Defense Impact Score. Sutton, meanwhile, is No. 32 in PFSN’s WR Impact Score. He has 45 receptions on 74 targets for 649 yards and four touchdowns. Sutton is averaging 8.8 yards per target as well. His numbers will help the Broncos in the next two games vs. the Commanders in Week 13 and the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14, respectively.

In Week 14, though, Sutton will look to avenge his Week 9 performance vs. the Raiders. He totaled three receptions for 24 yards. That said, Sutton’s resurgence starts in Week 13. The Commanders’ defense is No. 30 in PFSN’s Defense Impact Score. The defense is allowing 6.3 yards per play (No. 31) and 2.6 points per drive (No. 30) as well.

Elsewhere, cornerback Pat Surtain II is ready to “knock the rust off” in Week 13. This comes on the heels of Broncos defensive coordinator, saying, “it won’t be an easy out” when talking about the Washington Commanders. Until then, see what the Cowboys-Chiefs result means for the Broncos.
