The hubbub for the Carolina Panthers heading into Week 10 was the status of their rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, after he landed on the Friday injury report with a hamstring issue.
Carolina is aiming to begin a second win streak today against the New Orleans Saints, and having T-Mac certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Panthers Announce Offensive Lineman Inactive, Special Teams Contributor Also Out
And the good news is that McMillan is active for the contest, despite the limited practice session and late Friday addition. Bryce Young and Dave Canales will have their No. 1 receiver available to execute the offense to its fullest capacity.
McMillan is one of only ten players who have accumulated 500+ receiving yards through their first eight career games. He joins two other Panthers on the list, Kelvin Benjamin and Keary Colbert.
Tetairoa McMillan ranks as the No. 40 player at his position in PFSN’s WRi Metric with a 75.9 score through the first nine games.
Guard Chandler Zavala will not be active for Week 10. The decision doesn’t come as a surprise, since the reserve lineman didn’t participate in any practices this week.
The offensive line will have starting center Cade Mays and right tackle Taylor Moton back in the lineup today. Austin Corbett will slide over to right guard, a position he has years of experience playing in the league, both with the Los Angeles Rams and during the beginning of his Panthers tenure.
The rest of the inactive list includes defensive tackle Cam Jackson, wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte, and tight end James Mitchell.
The team activated wide receiver and proven special teams playmaker Dan Chisena to the roster, presumably to take care of the open role created by Tremayne’s absence.
