The Atlanta Falcons will take on the New York Jets in their Week 13 contest at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. Atlanta is 4-7 on the season and third in the NFC South, while New York is 2-9 and fourth in the AFC East.
The Falcons are fresh off a big win against their division rival, the New Orleans Saints, whom they defeated 24-10 in Week 12. Meanwhile, the Jets recently lost to the Baltimore Ravens 23-10. Both teams have had seasons that weren’t very expected, either due to inefficient play or injuries, but they’ll battle it out this week, looking for a victory.
Here are some bold predictions for the Atlanta Falcons’ Week 13 matchup against the New York Jets.
Kyle Pitts Sr. Will Have A Day
Falcons’ tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. hasn’t had that productive a season, catching 49 passes for 459 yards and a touchdown. Part of his lack of productivity can stem from the scheme, and just not having the most opportunities to make plays.
Pitts Sr. will have at least six catches for 65 yards and two touchdowns as he’ll need to step up for wide receiver Drake London, who is out with a knee injury, and also be a big play threat downfield for quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Breece Hall Will Make The Falcons’ Defense Work
Jets’ running back Breece Hall is a top back in the league, although he’s been on a struggling team this year as the Jets are 2-9. Even so, Hall is a statement piece in the offense. It’ll be a good matchup between him and the Falcons’ defensive front, but Hall will likely win in the end, rushing for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Hall has 766 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He’s a versatile back who can run between the tackles and catch the ball out of the backfield. It’ll be interesting to see how Falcons’ defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich gameplans for Hall.
Jalon Walker’s Performance Will Win Him Rookie Of The Week
Falcons’ rookie edge rusher Jalon Walker has had a standout season with 30 total tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Walker was named Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week earlier in the season for his performance against the New England Patriots in Week 9, where he had five tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, and a pass breakup.
In the upcoming matchup with the New York Jets, Walker is projected to total seven tackles and 2.5 sacks. PFSN forecasts a 28-21 victory for the Atlanta Falcons over the Jets. PFSN assigns the Falcons offense a 74.9 Impact Score and the defense a 75.3.
