The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are set to renew one of the NFL’s most compelling recent rivalries in a high-stakes rematch early in the 2025 season.
According to a report from Jordan Schultz, the two teams will meet in Week 2 in a rematch of Super Bowl 59, and legendary quarterback Tom Brady will be on the call for FOX alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

The game is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14, at 4:25 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. It will be broadcast nationally on FOX, with Brady making one of his most anticipated early appearances as a full-time game analyst.
This matchup marks the first meeting since the Feb. 9 Super Bowl 59 clash in New Orleans, where the Eagles stunned the Chiefs 40-22.
Philadelphia stormed out to a 34-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to their second Super Bowl title. The loss ended Kansas City’s bid to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 72 yards and another score. The Eagles’ defense smothered Patrick Mahomes, sacking him six times and intercepting him twice, including a pick-six that helped seal the blowout. Mahomes threw three late touchdowns, but the gap was too wide to close.
Despite the one-sided result, the game drew an astonishing 127.7 million viewers.
Recent meetings between the Eagles and Chiefs have delivered plenty of drama. In Week 11 of the 2023 season, Philadelphia edged out Kansas City 21-17 in a close battle. Before that, the Chiefs topped the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl 57, one of the most thrilling championship finishes in recent memory.
The Eagles’ 2025 schedule is already shaping up to be loaded with marquee matchups.
They’ll open the season at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4. Other key games include a Thursday night clash with the Giants on Oct. 9, a Monday night game at the Packers on Nov. 10, a Black Friday showdown with the Bears on Nov. 28, and a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game against the Commanders on Dec. 20.
