After being flagged during the Baltimore Ravens’ win against the Miami Dolphins, wide receiver Rashod Bateman is also facing additional punishment from the NFL. The league decided that a flag wasn’t enough for Bateman, as they stood their ground and backed up the officials.
The Ravens had no issue winning that game, but Bateman’s pockets are now lighter heading into Week 10.

NFL Fines Rashod Bateman $25,154 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct
NFL’s Tom Pelissero posted a video that sees Bateman yelling at one of the officials on X. Some fans were able to make out what he was saying, and it’s clearly not something that the officials want to hear. Ultimately, Bateman was fined $25,154.
The tweet read, “The NFL fined Ravens WR Rashod Bateman $25,154 for unsportsmanlike conduct – verbal abuse of an official last week. Bateman was also flagged.”

Knowing Bateman signed a three-year, $36.75 million contract, this fine is likely peanuts to the wideout. He said what he said, and in the heat of the moment, he expressed exactly how he was feeling.
This was a significantly different penalty than celebrating or using the helmet, but the NFL knew they had to double down on their actions to prevent players from acting this way in the future.
Against the Dolphins, Bateman was thrilled to have veteran quarterback Lamar Jackson back in action. The Ravens have missed having their MVP-winning QB on the field, and it’s clear their offense is completely different when he’s out there to make plays. Bateman finished with just two receptions for 13 yards. He’s now had under 20 yards in two of his last three games.
Regardless, Bateman is still a reliable member of this offense. But he needs to rise to the occasion to show he’s worth what the team invested in him. At this point, he’s 72nd in PFSN’s WR Impact with a D grade. The highest-rated receiver on the Ravens is Zay Flowers. To no surprise, Flowers is a Top 10 receiver in the league with his B grade.
The now 3-5 Ravens are on a quest to turn things around after a disastrous 1-5 start. Bateman, 25, has been quiet most of the year. Now that Baltimore has picked up back-to-back wins, he’ll look to become more involved in this offense down the stretch.
As long as he doesn’t get himself in trouble again, he should have no issues finding a connection with Jackson and getting his numbers back to where they usually are.
Baltimore is in the middle of a three-game road trip, with their Week 10 matchup taking place in Minnesota. From there, they’ll head to Cleveland before hosting four of their next five.
