Every season, the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are in the mix for the NFL MVP accolade. However, per one NFL MVP voter, a new contender has emerged.
Josh Allen showed off his grit and determination to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. According to Emmanuel Acho, the Buffalo Bills quarterback has jumped to the pole position.
Josh Allen Surpasses Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes in Emmanuel Acho’s Book
Allen was the lynchpin in ending the Chiefs’ unbeaten run. Over the season, Allen has scored 18 TDs for 2,543 yards against Jackson’s 25 TDs for 2,876 yards and Mahomes’ 11 TDs for 2,404 yards. However, Allen’s importance is far greater in Acho’s book.
During his appearance on FS1’s The Facility, Acho highlighted the shift in his thinking process as an MVP voter. “I had to recalibrate my mind as an MVP voter because I’m sitting here saying Josh is currently the front-runner for MVP. Josh Allen made it abundantly clear what he is doing with whom he’s doing it makes him the front-runner for MVP,” he said.

“His first overall pick this year, Keon Coleman didn’t play,” added Acho. “His first overall pick last year, Dalton Kincaid, didn’t play, and they still won the football game versus the best team in football.”
Mahomes Talks About Losing Against Allen’s Bills
With the loss against the Bills, the Chiefs have shattered their hopes of running through the season unbeaten. However, Mahomes doesn’t want this to concern his teammates. “That’s a good football team, nothing to hang your head on, losing to them,” he said.
The 29-year-old suggested that this 30-21 loss should be used as fuel for their future challenges. “The undefeated thing was cool, but that’s not our ultimate goal. So we’ll keep building towards that,” added Mahomes.
The defending champions will bring their hopes for a third straight Super Bowl to Charlotte next week. In Week 12, the Chiefs will face off against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
