After a month on the sidelines, the question was not just whether Lamar Jackson would play, but if he could still be the same game-breaking quarterback the Baltimore Ravens desperately needed. He answered that question emphatically against the Miami Dolphins in his first week back from injury.
Jackson’s performance proved he was back to 100%, and now the league has taken notice, honoring his spectacular return as he tries to lead his team to the playoffs.

How Did Jackson Earn Player of the Week Honors?
In his return, Jackson, who has thrown 14 touchdowns to just one interception in five games this season, made playing the position look easy. He showed no signs of rust after recovering from a month-long injury. Against the Dolphins, the two-time NFL MVP threw four touchdowns, finishing with a 143.2 rating and a 92 QBR.
NFL Players of the Week — Week 9:

Interestingly, despite being named the Week 9 AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Jackson was ranked as the 12th-best quarterback of the week in PFSN’s QBi metric. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold posted the highest grade in Week 9 (90.9), and the top AFC passer was Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen with an 85.3 grade.
Regardless, Jackson did enough to win the award in his first week back. While most players in the NFL return on a snap count or need time to readjust, Jackson proved he is not like most players as his epic 2025-26 season continues.
What Does the Road Ahead Look Like for the Ravens?
The Baltimore Ravens sit at 3-5 after Tyler Huntley led them to victory in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears. Having won two straight games, there is no better time for the Ravens to go on a run. In Week 10, they are tasked with playing a red-hot Minnesota Vikings squad, but their schedule appears more favorable after that.
Baltimore has one of the easiest schedules for the rest of the season, which includes games against the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and two against a Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals.
However, they do have to play the Pittsburgh Steelers twice, and those games could easily decide who wins the AFC North.
In his five games this season, Jackson is 86-for-118 with a 72.9% completion percentage. He has thrown for 1,073 yards and has added 180 on the ground. For what it is worth, Jackson only had five carries for 14 yards against the Dolphins. It is clear the Ravens wanted to keep him in the pocket, but his ability to use his legs is what makes him one of the most unstoppable quarterbacks in the entire league.
