It has been challenging for NFL fans to watch their favorite teams this season due to the ongoing issues between YouTube TV and ESPN. Watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers on “Monday Night Football” even prompted former NFL defensive end J.J. Watt to air his grievance.
Well, it’s not time for Festivus and the airing of grievances to begin. But Watt apparently had just reached his limit when trying to watch the Eagles-Packers game on TV.
What Did J.J. Watt Say About the MNF Game?
Just a few minutes before the Eagles scored the game’s first touchdown, Watt headed out to X and shared an opinion other NFL fans might share with him as well.
Watt wrote, “This game (so far) was not worth the effort we went thru (through) to get it on the TV…”

Even before Monday night’s game kicked off with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the call for ESPN, Watt had plenty more to say earlier in the month about the YouTube-ESPN situation.
“The crazy part is, I have some sort of subscription because I watch Espanyol matches on ESPN+ But I can’t watch MNF,” Watt posted on X a number of days ago. “I don’t understand it and quite frankly just don’t really care to figure it out right now. Just frustrating. All of it.”

Want more from Watt? Here you go: “So we’re just not watching Monday Night Football huh? I’m not buying another streaming subscription…”
Oh, Watt also had another online salvo to air toward those trying to solve the YouTube-ESPN issues. Watt wrote, “Can we get this thing figured out by kickoff tonight please?” Apparently, that did not happen, and Watt will probably continue to let people know that he’s not pleased about what is going on between the two companies.
NFL fans can be assured that Watt’s sentiments are shared by many of them. They don’t want to get another subscription for a streaming service to watch their NFL games. These days, Watt is an NFL analyst for CBS Sports and was on hand Sunday for his old team, the Houston Texans, to rally past the Jacksonville Jaguars 36-29 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Ironically, the Eagles and Packers traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter, with Philadelphia holding a 10-7 lead late in the fourth quarter.
