Week 4 NFL Injury Report: Lamar Jackson, A.J. Brown, Darrell Henderson, Andy Dalton, and more

Some of the NFL's brightest stars are hurting heading into Week 4. Read the latest NFL injury report for Lamar Jackson, A.J. Brown, and more.

It’s Week 4, and the NFL injury report is already piling up. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Tennessee Titans wide receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones, and Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson are all dealing with injuries of varying severity. Friday will be a critical day in determining their availability for this weekend’s games.

NFL Injury Report for Week 4 starts with Lamar Jackson

A back injury kept the former league MVP out of practice Wednesday and Thursday. It’s just the second time in Lamar Jackson’s four-year career that an injury has held him out of practice on back-to-back days, per ESPN.

But Jackson was back at practice Friday and reportedly moved around well. That would seemingly put him on track to play Sunday against the undefeated Denver Broncos.

Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Thursday categorized the injury as “a little back flare-up.”

Roman added: “I don’t think it’s anything serious. But we’re just going to have to kind of wait and see. I think he’s going to be in good shape. We’ll wait and see.”

Jackson has accounted for 5 Ravens touchdowns in 2021, throwing for 761 yards and rushing for 251 more in three games.

If he cannot go Sunday, Tyler Huntley — who has thrown 5 passes in the NFL — would get the start.

Lamar Jackson game status: Questionable.

Andy Dalton and Justin Fields, QBs, Chicago Bears

Mike Nagy has played it coy with the Bears’ quarterback situation this week, but Andy Dalton looks to have at least a shot to play after being a limited participant in practice all week. Dalton missed Chicago’s Week 4 loss with a knee injury, leading to Justin Fields’ first NFL start — which was a debacle.

Fields had one of the worst games by a quarterback in recent memory, completing just 6 of 20 passes for 68 yards and a QBR of 6. Not 60 — 6. The Browns sacked Fields 9 times. Adding injury to insult, Fields hurt his thumb in the game, but his X-rays were negative, and he practiced fully this week. If Dalton and Fields can’t go for whatever reason, Nick Foles would start Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Andy Dalton game status: Questionable.

Justin Fields game status: Available.

Darrell Henderson, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Sean McVay announced that the rib injury that kept Darrell Henderson out of the Rams’ Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t keep him out of their Week 4 game against the Cardinals.

The Rams struggled to run the ball with Henderson out against Tampa Bay. Backup RB Sony Michel needed 20 carries to manage 67 yards.

Darrell Henderson game status: Questionable.

A.J. Brown and Julio Jones, WRs, Tennessee Titans

What a double whammy for Mike Vrabel and the Titans. Tennessee lost A.J. Brown to a hamstring injury during their Week 3 win over the Colts, while Julio Jones was hardly available due to a similar issue.

Brown and Jones won’t play Sunday after missing practice all week, Vrabel announced Friday. That’s the bad news. The good? The Titans are playing the Jets.

With two of the best receivers in the league out, there’s no easy replacement. Expect more of Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, whose 4 catches, 53 yards, and 1 touchdown in Week 3 all were team highs.

A.J. Brown game status: Out.

Julio Jones game status: Out.

Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, RBs, Green Bay Packers

Aaron Jones’ ankle injury has limited his participation this week. While he is expected to play, it could hinder his effectiveness when the Packers host the Steelers Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, a back injury popped up for AJ Dillon mid-week, causing him to sit out part of Thursday’s practice ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

Jones and Dillon have combined for 78.9% of Green Bay’s carries through three games. If both are unavailable at some point during the season, the next man up is rookie Kylin Hill, a seventh-round pick out of Texas A&M who has 7 carries for 22 yards on the season.

Aaron Jones game status: Available.

AJ Dillon game status: Available.
