    On the 49ers’ side, Charvarius Ward and Nick Bosa returned to practice on Friday (Sept. 20), giving the defense a boost. On offense, Brock Purdy will already be without McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel, and he’ll almost assuredly be without George Kittle as well.

    On the Rams’ side, K Joshua Karty (groin), CB Cobie Durant (toe), and NT Bobby Brown III (ankle) are all questionable. They’ll be without Kupp, WR Puka Nacua, and TE Davis Allen.

    The Rams have three starting offensive linemen on IR: C Steve Avila, G Jonah Jackson, and T Joe Noteboom. The secondary is also suffering — S John Johnson III and CBs Derion Kendrick and Tre Tomlinson have been ruled out for the season. In total, the Rams have 11 players on injured reserve.
