The NFL Fantasy app has crashed again.
By now, fantasy managers are getting used to these crashes that prevent them from setting their lineups, making waiver claims, and checking their fantasy matchups.
This has become a weekly occurrence, with the app also crashing during Week 1 and Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season. This time, it somehow happened before the games even started.
The NFL+ app has also encountered a ton of issues throughout the first two-and-a-half weeks of the season, which has prevented users from being able to watch various NFL games and NFL RedZone.
NFL fans flooded social media to complain about the issues with the NFL Fantasy app. Managers were getting an error code as well as “API limit exceeded.”
API stands for application programming interface, and this error occurs when the system gets too many requests. In other words, the NFL Fantasy app wasn’t prepared for the number of users logging in on Sunday afternoon.
According to the website DownDetector.com, user reports have continued to indicate problems at NFL Fantasy Football. The graph shows that the problems started around 11:45 a.m. ET and peaked at noon ET. This is a huge problem, as this is when fantasy managers set their lineups and make waiver claims (shortly after NFL teams release their inactives for the 1 p.m. games).
According to the site, 77% of complaints had to do with issues logging in, 15% encountered errors with the website, and 8% had a server connection issue.
The NFL Fantasy app has crashed repeatedly throughout the first two weeks of the 2024 season, including several times during the season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.
Many fantasy managers have grown frustrated with the NFL Fantasy app and moved their leagues to other fantasy football apps in recent years.
It’s unclear how long the NFL’s fantasy app will be down, but if the start of the 2024 season is any indication, it certainly seems like there could continue to be issues week after week.
