‘Better To Tank Next Year’ – NFL Fans Run Wild With Plans To Secure Texas QB Arch Manning in 2026

    Published on

Texas Longhorns freshman Arch Manning became the center of attention for NFL fans ideating on how teams should avoid drafting a QB this year.

Many NFL teams, including the Tennessee Titans, could be in the market to draft top-tier quarterbacks next year. The 2025 NFL Draft class will have elite quarterbacks, including Colorado Buffaloes star Shedeur Sanders (assuming he declares) and Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward. However, fans don’t feel they are worth tanking the season for.

Instead, some fans believe Texas Longhorns freshman quarterback Arch Manning, who impressed many in a limited showing this college football season, would be worth tanking the season for…in 2025.

Fans Ask Teams To Wait for Arch Manning in 2026

On Tuesday, Tommy Timmermann shared a suggestion, saying that instead of drafting a quarterback in 2025, the Titans should focus on bringing in an elite wide receiver or edge rusher. Per Timmermann, while the season may not have been on par, starting quarterback Will Levis is not to be solely blamed for it.

Fans couldn’t agree more, with one adding more to it.

“There is no QB worthy of a first-round pick this year. Sanders will be a bust. Ward is not a serious NFL guy. Titans are a mess. Better to tank next year for arch manning in 26 lol. Draft OL this year,” one fan commented.

“Idk if there’s a certified stud QB in the draft this year, but Schoen and Daboll won’t survive another year to tank and get like Arch Manning in 2026,” another commented.

“Arch Manning is going to be the next Giants QB,” one fan posted.

“Odds the Giants don’t draft a QB and seek to bridge to Arch Manning? They play the AFC West and NFC North in ’25…plus last place in NFC West (could be 49ers). Your win total has to be like 4.5,” another charted plan to get Manning to the Giants.

With Quinn Ewers being the starting quarterback for the Longhorns, NFL scouts await full-season action from Arch Manning next season before deciding his prospects when he likely declares for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Emerges as Destination for Arch Manning

Manning is ineligible to declare for the NFL Draft until 2026. This should give the signal-caller time to develop his game under Steve Sarkisian. While there’s no certainty when he’ll declare, 2026 is the earliest he can.

Despite only seven college football games under his belt — where he has thrown for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions — many NFL teams are interested in drafting the quarterback. The Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints have emerged as top contenders.

One team that has emerged is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their current starting quarterback Baker Mayfield’s $100 million contract only lasts for three years, opening doors to possibly selecting Manning and then allowing him to learn under Mayfield for a year before handing him the reins.

It remains to be seen how things unfold, but as things look, Manning’s draft stock is already on the up.
