Micah Parsons and the rest of his teammates have faced a lot of criticism for sub-par performances this season. The Dallas Cowboys were 4-7 heading into their Thanksgiving game against the New York Giants and came away with a big win.
Dallas won 27-20, and Parsons played quite well. The Cowboys have won their last two games, and the fans were quite happy with how the star defensive player played against the Giants.

Parsons had a slow start to the season before missing four games due to an ankle injury. However, he has recorded 5.5 sacks in four games since his return in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
With the win against the Giants, the Cowboys are now 5-7 on the season. They are still not mathematically eliminated from making the playoffs, but with Dak Prescott (hamstring) out for the season, it will be hard for them to win all their remaining fixtures.
Cooper Rush had a respectable game against the Giants. He was 21-of-36 for 195 yards and a touchdown, with a passer rating of 82.5. For the first time this season, the Cowboys had a 100+ yard rusher as Rico Dowdle played the best game of his career and helped his team to a win on Thanksgiving.
Rico Dowdle Had a Solid Outing on Thanksgiving
The Cowboys failed to replace Tony Pollard in the offseason, which led to Dowdle entering the season as the team’s RB1. So far, his performance has been underwhelming, but the game against the Giants could be a pivotal moment in his career.
Dowdle, who signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2020, rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries against the Giants. He averaged 5.1 yards per carry and also had three receptions for 11 yards.
The 26-year-old running back also played well against the Washington Commanders in Week 12; the team will hope he can continue his good form. He has rushed for 600 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games this season, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
This season, the Cowboys’ weakest links have been their run offense and defense. Both units looked better against the Giants, as not only did Dowdle have a career game but Dallas’ defense limited Tyrone Tracy Jr. to 32 yards on nine carries.
The Cowboys will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14 on Monday Night Football. All eyes will be on the Parsons-led defense, which will face Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins.
