Is Aaron Rodgers Not In The Jets’ Plans Anymore?

The Jets’ official X (formerly known as Twitter) account shared a post with a cartoon of team players, but Rodgers was nowhere to be seen. For a franchise sitting at a dismal 3-8 record, the omission was all fans needed to start a comment fest, speculating about Rodgers’ future. Comments flooded the post, with fans delivering a mix of humor and skepticism. One wrote, “Rodgers must be in Egypt.”

The Egypt reference calls back to Rodgers’ absence from the Jets’ minicamp in July. He was in Egypt at the time [01:12:00], enjoying a vacation, for which he was later fined $50,000.

Another joked, “Aaron Rodgers didn’t make it into the graphic? He’ll go on [The Pat McAfee Show] to talk about it now.”

One curious fan asking, “How come no Aaron in the cartoon?? Did [owner Woody Johnson] veto it?”

“Rodgers is in Egypt for the parade,” one more fan wrote.

One fan tweeted, “The most accurate element of this lovely illustration is the absence of Aaron Rodgers.”

Another joked saying, “Here comes the controversy regarding why [Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner, and Breece Hall], etc. aren’t there 🤣. .” He left out Rodgers’ name though.

One X user tweeted, “Oh man Rodgers is cooked.”

Rodgers addressed his future on Tuesday during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.” He wants to remain with the Jets but admitted that several factors will influence his decision, including the team’s new general manager and coaching staff.

“If they want me back and I’m healthy, then there’s a decision to make. If not, there are other options,” Rodgers said, adding that he remains “open to everything and attached to nothing.”

This isn’t the first time Rodgers has faced scrutiny this season. His performance has been bad, marred by injuries and a 3-8 season to show, leaving the Jets far from playoff contention. The team also recently fired GM Joe Douglas, a decision Rodgers learned about while traveling.

Fans are also speculating about tensions with team ownership. Reports suggested that Jets owner Johnson was unhappy with Rodgers following a Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos. However, Rodgers dismissed rumors of a strained relationship, saying, “I have a lot of gratitude for the Johnsons. We’ve had good conversations over the last two years.”

The Jets prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13, and Rodgers remains the starter for now. Time will tell whether the Thanksgiving snub was a simple oversight or a sign of deeper issues.
