‘This Is Getting Out of Control’ – NFL Fans Outraged Over Roger Goodell’s Plan for International Games in 2025 Season

Roger Goodell is expanding the NFL's international games further and going to new destinations, but fans are hitting back at this development.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell dropped more information regarding the league’s future internationally before Week 10 kicked off in Germany by highlighting the countries that teams will be traveling to.

Meanwhile, American football fans aren’t as pleased as international ones. And several did not hide from showing their emotions against this decision.

Fans Rebel as Roger Goodell Embarks on NFL International Journey

The 65-year-old Goodell highlighted his plans from Germany before the Carolina Panthers vs. the New York Giants kicked off.

“Roger Goodell just announced on NFL Network that the league plans to play eight international games next season, with games set for London, Spain, Brazil, Mexico City, Germany, and possibly Ireland,” reporter Ari Meirov tweeted.

“We are definitely going to Spain, we announced that,” Goodell said from Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, before Giants-Panthers. “We expect to return to Mexico City. We expect to return to Brazil. We will certainly be back in the U.K. And we’re also looking at the potential of another game in the U.K. area in Ireland, possibly. That’s a possibility. And we’ll certainly be back here in Germany. So if that total’s eight, that’s what we’re shooting for.”

While NFL fans from these countries were in celebratory mode, American fans were quite upset. Since 2022, including this year, the NFL has played five games internationally. However, next season, the amount of games will be increased to eight.

“This is getting out of control here,” replied one fan.

“I think they need to cool it on the international crap,” added a fan.

“Only people that want this is Roger and the owners. Money over USA for Roger and company,” tweeted one fan.

“We don’t want it,” added another.

“This is why college football is so much better than pro,” responded one fan.

“Should just change their name to IFL now bc they don’t care anymore”.

Goodell Wants NFL To Dominate the World With More Than 8 Games

Earlier this year, Goodell appeared on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. The NFL commissioner highlighted a deal between the league and franchise owners to play more than the stipulated five games.

“We want the world to know we’re coming, that we’re bringing football,” Goodell said. “Our clubs have agreed to play up to eight regular-season games. We have expectations that will go well beyond that.”

If Goodell’s expectations of going beyond eight games internationally do come to fruition, American fans might have a tough time.
