The green room at the NFL Draft is usually reserved for players who will be drafted in the first or early second round at the latest. The NFL invites a certain number of players so that there aren’t too many players in the green room who don’t hear their names called on night one. One quarterback received a green room invite that may have come as a surprise to some NFL fans.
The University of Alabama QB Jalen Milroe was invited to the green room for this year’s draft while being the projected fourth quarterback to come off the board in April. The invite could suggest that Milroe is rising on draft boards and could go earlier than some might expect.

Jalen Milroe is Headed to the NFL Green Room
The NFL invited Milroe to the green room, and he reportedly accepted the invite. As reported by NFL insider Dane Brugler, Milroe will attend the draft. He will be in the green room with his family until he hears his name called in the early rounds of the NFL Draft.

Some players decide to spend their time with family away from the venue. While most first-rounders like to be in attendance and walk across the stage to shake Commissioner Roger Goodell’s hand, others decline green room invitations. For Milroe, he wants to be there for one of the biggest nights of his life.
Milroe’s stock is intriguing because of his physical qualities. He’s got a powerful arm, incredible speed, and great athleticism. He is a freak athlete who, if everything clicks at once, can be a force to be reckoned with at the quarterback position. Some teams could benefit from selecting Milroe, and after the top two quarterbacks, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, are picked, Milroe could hear his name at any point.
Milroe had a relatively successful career in his two years as Alabama’s starter. He led the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff appearance in the 2023 season, and in a down year by Alabama’s standards, he racked up nine wins in 2024. His production wasn’t as efficient in 2024 as in 2023, but he still has the physical tools to be a competent NFL quarterback.
He struggled to take care of the ball last season by throwing 11 interceptions to his 16 passing touchdowns, whereas the previous year, he threw 23 touchdowns with only six interceptions. He threw for around 2,800 yards in both seasons and was a dynamic threat on the ground. He had 20 touchdowns on the ground in 2024 with 726 yards. His ability to make defenders miss in space when he has the ball makes him an attractive pick.
His 40-yard dash time at his Alabama Pro Day caught the eyes of many scouts as he ran the fastest QB time by a significant margin in this class. Because of his speed and big arm, he has been gaining more buzz to go higher in the draft and the invitation to the green room confirms that Milroe might be hearing his name earlier than expected.
