The 2025 NFL Draft is shaping up to be a two-quarterback race. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders have separated themselves from the rest of the field, while others — like Jalen Milroe and Jaxson Dart — trail behind as potential dark horses for QB-needy teams.
But as we’ve seen before, what happens in mock drafts doesn’t always reflect what’s going on inside NFL war rooms. Last year, very few mock drafts projected six quarterbacks going in the first round — but that’s exactly what happened. To better understand how this year’s quarterback class might shake out, one draft insider laid out the possibilities.

Where Do Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, and Jalen Milroe Land?
The latest mock draft from PFSN has Sanders going in the top 10 — this time to a team that’s picked up steam as a popular destination: the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, Jalen Milroe and Jaxson Dart fall to the second round, with the Las Vegas Raiders taking Milroe at No. 37 and the Cleveland Browns selecting Dart at No. 33. But ESPN’s Jordan Reid isn’t fully convinced those projections will hold.
Speaking on SportsCenter, Reid began with Sanders. “He seems to be the favorite to be the second quarterback off the board, but one trait that really stands out about him is just the poise and accuracy that he plays with.”
Reid highlighted four traits that stand out about Sanders: “He had a 74% completion percentage a season ago, he has excellent ball placement, he’s very polished, and you cannot question his toughness at all. The scouts I talked to said the Browns or the Giants at No. 2 or No. 3 overall could take him.”
But Reid also mentioned two other teams that could be in play if trades come into the mix. “Since there was some confusion — Atlanta (No. 15) and Denver (No. 20). Those are two potential spots circled for teams that have interest in trading up for a QB.”

Next up: Dart. “The one thing that scouts keep talking about with him is just the downfield accuracy and ball placement — that’s something that really stands out,” Reid said.
While most projections have Dart landing in round two, Reid floated a surprising possibility. “He could go as high as the Saints at No. 9 overall. They had a heavy contingency at his pro day a week ago. But scouts I talked to said a more realistic range for him is the back end of the first round.”
That left Milroe as the final quarterback to break down. “Jalen Milroe definitely is a hot name in league circles right now. And the one thing that scouts keep coming back to with him is just his eye-popping athleticism,” Reid said. “He’s going to enter a very distinct group his first year in the NFL — names that include Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Fields.”
Like Dart, New Orleans is in the mix for Milroe. But another team to keep an eye on: the Pittsburgh Steelers. “So look for him to go in the second or the third round,” Reid added.
With Ward now the clear favorite to go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans, how the rest of the quarterback class falls on during the 2025 NFL Draft at Lambeau Field could bring plenty of surprises.
