NFL DFS Sunday Picks Week 10: Don’t ignore the ultra-cheap Mason Rudolph and Geoff Swaim

It's easy to pick great NFL DFS players but much harder to find cheap bargains to fill lineups -- here are my favorites for Sunday Week 10.

Are you competing today in a DFS fantasy football tournament, 50/50, multiplier, head-to-head, 3-100, or any other competition destined to separate you from the pack? Well, of course, it wouldn’t hurt to include a couple cheap, high-upside options in your lineup. Here are my favorite NFL DFS Week 10 bargain picks.

NFL DFS bargain picks for Sunday Week 10 | $5,000-$7,000

The following player values are based on FanDuel pricing. All are priced lower than their likely actual Week 10 value.

Mason Rudolph, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers ($6,300)

Ben Roethlisberger was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday and will be forced to sit today. He also had scored the fewest fantasy points among all QBs who’ve started every game this season.

So, let’s be frank. How much worse could Mason Rudolph be? The third-year backup has been entirely adequate in nine career starts and now has a top-two pass-catching RB at his disposal. Oh, and he’s facing the Lions.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots ($5,400)

Rhamondre Stevenson will be in line for more work than usual with Damien Harris ailing. While the matchup isn’t exactly friendly, Stevenson’s versatility as a rusher and pass catcher should keep him relevant.

Tyler Johnson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($5,100)

I’ve been pushing him since late October. Tyler Johnson has WR2/3 upside for the shorthanded Bucs, and he has the talent to shine if Tom Brady keeps looking his way. He’s in all of my DFS lineups today.

James Washington, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers ($5,100)

Chase Claypool’s absence opens the door for James Washington, a perennial spot starter who’s always one big play away from exceeding expectations. Even with Roethlisberger out — or perhaps because of it — Washington is a nice get this week against a defense that’s yielding the most passing yards and passing TDs in the league.

Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers ($5,100)

I keep writing about him because he remains underpriced. Pat Freiermuth is Pittsburgh’s most talented TE. Whether or not he’s playing starter’s snaps, he’s good enough to start in most leagues this week as well as in DFS.

Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($5,000)

For the gutsy among you. Ronald Jones hasn’t shown us much this season. But it’s quite possible that Tampa Bay will roll over Washington. There’s an opening for Jones to pick up 10+ touches. At this price, gambling on a boom-or-bust RB sometimes makes sense.

Buffalo Bills, D/ST, ($5,000)

They’re facing the Jets. While I believe deep down that Mike White will find a way to be relevant, the fact is Buffalo has been elite for good reasons.

NFL DFS bargain picks for Sunday Week 10 | Less than $5,000

Who should you grab in DFS that is less than $5,000 on FanDuel? With Rob Gronkowski still sidelined, one boom-or-bust Tampa Bay TE could be a steal.

Pittsburgh Steelers, D/ST ($4,900)

The Lions are mistake-prone and winless. Pittsburgh is capable on defense. It’s a good combination.

Arizona Cardinals, D/ST ($4,800)

Arizona will face P.J. Walker in what amounts to a guest appearance before Cam Newton takes over. The Cardinals should be able to take care of business, even if it means slowing Christian McCaffrey.

O.J. Howard, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($4,600)

Yes, O.J. Howard has been entirely inconsistent in fantasy circles. But in DFS, you’re playing for high ceilings, not high floors. Howard has a TE1 ceiling at a TE2/3 price. That’s a worthwhile bet.

Geoff Swaim, TE, Tennessee Titans ($4,500)

The running game is a question mark, Julio Jones is out, and Josh Reynolds was cut. Who will be Ryan Tannehill’s No. 2 receiver in Week 10?

Cardinals vs. Rams FanDuel DFS Picks: Top lineup includes Cam Akers, Cooper Kupp, and Kyler Murray

The ultra-cheap Geoff Swaim has as good a shot as anyone. He has back-to-back 4-reception, 1-TD outings. Perhaps the biggest TE bargain that no one — and I mean no one — is talking about. (He’s the expert-consensus TE37 this week.)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, D/ST ($4,400)

Terrific against the run, bad against the pass. I’m still bullish about Tampa Bay turning things around on defense, especially as some of their key guys get healthy. For now, facing Washington, I’m expecting a comfortable win and a good shot at multiple turnovers.
