Shedeur Sanders Makes Huge Remarks About Travis Hunter

On Friday night, the entire Colorado Buffaloes, including players and support staff, gathered for one last time before the postseason matchup. It was a moment where players gave shoutouts to each other and Coach Prime thanked each and every member of the program who realized the dream of taking Colorado to a bowl game. While speaking on the podium, Shedeur mentioned his true appreciation for Hunter and the role he played in the journey.

“‘He’s the greatest player in the country, hands down. He proved it week after week, game in and game out, and throughout all the adversity, you know, he’s standing through everything, through the thick of it and the thin,” the QB said about his star wideout.

“I feel like the trophy I got at home is only because of him. You know, he came out and worked each week he’s been behind. A lot of guys that he had to rotate in and, a quarterback goes through a lot of adversity, and he stands on 10 toes every time,” Hunter said in response to Shedeur’s praise.

In the 2024 season, while leading Colorado to a successful season, Hunter recorded 32 tackles, four interceptions, and 11 pass breakups on defense. As a receiver, he recorded 1,152 yards on 92 receptions and scored 14 touchdowns to crown himself the Heisman winner and the best two-way athlete in the history of college football.

Similarly, Shedeur recorded 3,926 yards and scored 35 touchdowns with a completion rate of 74.2%.

Sanders and Hunter’s NFL Draft Projections

According to the latest 2025 NFL mock draft by Alex Kennedy of Pro Football Network, the Colorado Buffaloes QB could be a No. 1 overall pick by the New York Giants. The franchise is looking for a future quarterback after Daniel Jones’ departure, and hence Coach Prime’s son could be a perfect choice.

Similarly, Hunter could be a potential target for the New England Patriots. He may go off the draft boards as the No. 2 overall pick. Jerod Mayo will have an ultimate solution at offense and defense as a two-way athlete on the roster.
