Jordan Love turned in one of his best performances of the season in one of the Green Bay Packers’ most important games of the year. He helped them to defeat the Detroit Lions in Week 13 on Thanksgiving in a pivotal contest for the playoff picture. The NFL apparently took notice by making a significant announcement about the quarterback just days after the victory.
Jordan Love Receives Major NFL News
Love threw for all four of the Packers’ touchdowns in their 31-24 win against the Lions and improved to an 8-3-1 record. He set a new season-high in touchdown passes and picked the right time to have a signature performance with profound playoff implications on the line.
The NFL recognized him for his impressive game by naming him the Week 13 NFC Offensive Player of the Week. He earned it by picking apart a solid defense on the road in a nationally televised contest.
He is joined in the NFC by Seattle Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones for defense and Tampa Bay Buccaneers punter Riley Dixon on special teams. New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, Buffalo Bills cornerback Christian Benford, and Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson earned the same honors for the AFC this week.

Love ranked sixth among all quarterbacks in PFSN’s Impact Rankings for Week 13 and is currently third in the season-long rankings, trailing only Maye and Josh Allen. His efficiency is a significant reason for his success, highlighted by a 67% completion percentage with 19 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Making his season even more impressive is that the Packers have played most of the year without two of their top weapons, Jayden Reed and Tucker Kraft. They also defeated the Lions without Matthew Golden, but this hasn’t slowed the quarterback down at all. He now has six touchdowns and zero interceptions during their active three-game winning streak.
The reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Week has another important matchup coming up in his game against the Chicago Bears, who are currently leading the race for the NFC North division title. The Packers trail them by just a half-game, so if they can come away with a victory, they would take over the lead with just four weeks remaining in the 2025 season.
Love was already delivered in a crucial game against the Lions last week, and is looking to do so again in another one against the Bears. He has a 3-1 career record against them, though his loss came in their most recent meeting last year.
