The 2025 NFL Draft pool has two quarterbacks, Cam Ward from Miami and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, who are being regarded as possible top choices.
The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick and are after a “generational talent,” according to their new general manager, Mike Borgonzi. So, the question is, who will the team select from the two?

Louis Riddick Picks Cam Ward Over Shedeur Sanders
On ESPN’s “First Take” episode from Feb. 19, former Cleveland Browns safety and current director of pro personnel Louis Riddick shared his thoughts on who the Titans should take with their pick.
“Right now, I have Cam No. 1,” Riddick said. “If I was picking right now, and I’ve talked to all these guys and everybody knows how much I love Deion Sanders, and that is my guy, and he has supported me from the time that we were players to now. I would objectively take Cam Ward first.”
Ward started as an unranked high school recruit and worked his way to becoming a consensus All-American. So, referring to Miami’s head coach Mario Cristobal, Riddick continued to laud Ward:
“Ask Mario Cristobal about the leader that this guy is and what he did to Miami football in the offseason from the time he decided to transfer from Washington State to the time they stepped on the football field.
“This guy is the ultimate consignment leader. He plays with a gigantic size boulder on his shoulder, it’s not a chip, boulder. He is very confident in the work that he has put in, and he should be because he is supremely smart, supremely talented, and he is deadly serious about the game.”

Riddick also compared Ward and the 2024 NFL Draft’s No. 2 overall pick, Jayden Daniels’ work ethic.
“What was the first thing that people said about Jayden Daniels when he went to Washington?” Riddick asked. “Everyone was impressed that he was there at 5 a.m. every day and the last guy to leave. That is not just for show; it’s a part of his process.
“It is the same thing with Cam Ward, and he will have that same kind of effect. He may be warm and fuzzy to everybody because this dude is an assassin serious about his craft, and I believe him when he says that he is going to make everybody pay.”
Ward’s stats from his 2024 campaign back up Riddick’s trust in him. He threw for 4,312 yards, 39 touchdowns, and completed 67.2% of his passes. He also rushed for 204 yards and four TDs.
