Months after their capitulation in Super Bowl 59, the Kansas City Chiefs have come under fire from NFL analyst Jason McIntyre. The analyst made cutting remarks regarding Travis Kelce’s ability before making a big claim about the team’s chances in 2025.

Chiefs ‘Haven’t Done a D*** Thing’ to Fix Issues, Says Jason McIntyre
During an episode of “The Herd,” McIntyre took aim at Kelce, the Chiefs roster, and the team’s attempts to fix the issues that floored them in New Orleans.
In a stunning attack, McIntyre started with the team’s lack of offseason activity.
“The offseason is when you improve your roster and fix issues, plug holes. Have you guys seen the Kansas City Chiefs’ offseason? They haven’t done a d*** thing.” McIntyre then referred to the Chiefs’ offensive line as “a train wreck” and mocked the team’s signing of Jaylon Moore in free agency.
“Their biggest signing was Jaylon Moore. Who?! [A] Fifth-rounder out of Western Michigan who was a backup in San Francisco. A backup!”
McIntyre isn’t the first to point out the team’s need for help up front, nor will he be the last. The venom with which his analysis was delivered, however, was notable. That same dismissive manner was then used to address the team’s star tight end.
“I love Travis Kelce,” he began. “I like Travis Kelce a lot, he’s a Hall of Famer; he’s coming off his worst season as a pro. He’s 35, turns 36 in October. Travis Kelce, career-low three touchdown catches.” Doubling down on his point, the analyst then laid into Kelce’s playoff performances.
“Do you remember his last three playoff games, last year? He was a ghost, invisible, didn’t do a d*** thing.”
Kelce decided to return for the 2025 season after being unhappy with how things went down in New Orleans. While it’s perfectly normal for a player to slow down toward the end of their career, Kelce has never relied on elite speed or athleticism.
McIntyre Makes Bold Prediction For the 2025 Chiefs
McIntyre’s shots at the team’s offensive line, new signing, and legendary playmaker weren’t the end of it. The analyst then turned on the Chiefs’ 15 wins in 2024, suggesting that the team had been fortunate.
“But then I saw the really big issue with Kansas City. So, last year, they went 11-0 in one-score games. Historic stuff; you don’t see 11-0 in one-score games.” While that might not sound like a problem, McIntyre then suggested that the team’s one-score victories were a sign of the team’s inability to dominate.
If McIntyre’s comments to this point had raised eyebrows, his big reveal was yet to come. After pointing out that those kinds of records tend to flip from year to year, McIntyre stated his belief that the Chiefs would miss out on the playoffs in 2025.
“We see this in the NBA all the time. When you make a run to the finals, two, three years in a row, that following year, you’re drained. The bodies are breaking down, the players are breaking down, and it’s very, very difficult to keep that sustainability going. I’m making the call here; it’s mid-April, before the Draft. I don’t think the Kansas City Chiefs are a playoff team next year.”
McIntyre’s claims went down about as well as could be expected in the comments section, with several questioning his credibility. In 2024, the San Francisco 49ers recently suffered a somewhat similar collapse to the one that the analyst is predicting for the Chiefs in 2025. When it comes to the Chiefs, though, most are done doubting the team’s ability to make it work and come out on top.
