‘Might Even Be a Disaster’ – NFL Analyst Boldly Predicts Doom Scenario for Aaron Rodgers-Led Steelers’ Offense

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been struggling to find a replacement franchise quarterback ever since Ben Roethlisberger retired at the end of the 2021 season. After wasting a first-round draft pick on Kenny Pickett, the team has tried out a variety of veterans who were looking for another shot.

All of that has led them to a strange marriage with Aaron Rodgers. After seeming to string the Steelers along for most of the offseason, Rodgers finally made good and signed a contract.

He even showed up for minicamp and seems to be doing everything right. However, there are mixed feelings about how successful Rodgers and the Steelers will be in 2025.

Aaron Rodgers Faces Harsh Prediction Ahead of Steelers’ 2025 Season

All NFL teams find themselves mired in controversy from time to time, but the Steelers and their head coach, Mike Tomlin, seem to do all they can to avoid it. That’s why many were surprised that the team would bring on the always controversial and very polarizing Rodgers.

Now Rodgers has announced that this will likely be his last season in a long, storied career, and it has upped the ante on the expectations over his performance.

On a recent episode of the “Even Money” podcast with former NFL player-turned-analyst Ross Tucker and sports betting expert Steve Fezzik, they were discussing the current betting odds for the upcoming NFL season.

When asked if any Week 4 games stood out to him, Fezzik noted the Steelers and Minnesota Vikings game in Dublin, Ireland. The Vikings are currently favored by -1.5 with an over/under of 42.5.

Fezzik said he is going to go under those 42.5 points in large part because he doesn’t trust Rodgers. “I just think the Aaron Rodgers offense is going to fail for the Steelers this year,” he said. “It might even be a disaster.”

Rodgers is one of the greatest ever to play the game. He has a Super Bowl win, remarkably against the Steelers, where he was also the game’s MVP. He is a four-time league MVP, a six-time All-Pro, and a 10-time Pro Bowler.

While he has led the league in numerous categories and still holds multiple records, he hasn’t looked like the Rodgers of old even a few years ago recently. After 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he was traded to the New York Jets in 2023.

He was heralded as the savior of the long-suffering franchise, but unfortunately, he ruptured his Achilles tendon just minutes into his first game.

He returned in 2024 and played in all 17 games. PFSN’s QB+ metric ranked Rodgers as 21st in the league for 2024 with a grade of C-. The Jets finished with a 5-12 record, and they decided to part ways with Rodgers.

Rodgers recently admitted that Tomlin and the newly-acquired DK Metcalf are a big part of why he chose to play for one more year in Pittsburgh. While Rodgers might not take the Steelers to the Super Bowl, it is hard to imagine it being a “disaster.”

The Steelers finished 10-7 last season, with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson splitting time at quarterback. Since then, the Steelers have made some notable roster upgrades. Tomlin always seems to be able to save Pittsburgh’s season.
