NFL Analyst Mina Kimes Points Out 2 Major Flaws in Aaron Rodgers’ Game Ahead of 4-Time MVP’s Steelers Stint

Aaron Rodgers joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in June on a one-year, $13.65 million contract that includes $10 million guaranteed and has the potential to reach up to $19.5 million with incentives. It will mark the third NFL team of his illustrious career as he spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers before spending the past two years as a member of the New York Jets.

While Rodgers’ Packers stint was filled with tremendous highs — notably one Super Bowl title and four MVP awards — he did not find the same success with the Jets. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer tore his Achilles just four snaps into his first season. He did bounce back in 2024, playing all 17 games and throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 63% of his passes.

He ranked eighth in the league in passing yards and seventh in touchdowns. However, his play was overshadowed by outside noise, including a midseason coaching change, as New York finished just 5-12. NFL analyst Mina Kimes recently shared two flaws she believes exist in Rodgers’ game.

NFL Analyst Mina Kimes Illustrates 2 Major Flaws in Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers’ Game

Rodgers has long been considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. Kimes recently previewed the AFC North — which figures to be one of the toughest divisions in the league, once again — on her podcast, “The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny.” The NFL analyst listed two major laws in the four-time MVP’s game, stating:

“My issue with him is I found, one, he doesn’t have the arm talent he used to. And when I say arm talent, that’s different from arm strength. He can’t make the crazy out-of-structure stuff, and sometimes it’s like he still thinks he can. And he can’t. Two, his accuracy was really over the place, I thought.”

Despite the Jets’ struggles as a team, Rodgers still performed at a high level. He will join a Steelers team that reached the postseason despite having an underwhelming offense. Pittsburgh has looked to upgrade that side of the ball with the addition of the 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback, DK Metcalf and Jonnu Smith.

Meanwhile, their defense was among the best units in the league last season, as they ranked eighth in scoring defense and 12th in yards allowed. The Steelers led the league in takeaways, en route to being ranked as the league’s 12th-best unit, according to PFSN’s Defense+ metric.

Given Kimes’ take, let’s see what Rodgers pulls up in 2025.
