The debate around who the better quarterback is between Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward has been ongoing for months now, especially with the 2025 NFL Draft just around the corner.
While most analysts think it’s a close call between the two quarterbacks, many, including Jordan Reid, believe the Miami star is the better and more underrated one.
NFL Analyst Makes His Pick Between Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward
During one of his latest analyses, Jordan Reid, who is an NFL and college football analyst, shared why he would pick Ward over Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Reid suggested that both quarterbacks have very different skill sets, and it will be interesting to see which teams they eventually end up on.
The NFL analyst highlighted how last year’s draft class had some talent powerhouses, with three quarterbacks out of the first six picks. This time, it is similar, with Shedeur and Cam being two really talented guys.
When talking about what the case would be if the 2025 and the 2024 NFL draft classes merged, Reid replied that, according to him, Ward is being severely underrated, and he would place him ahead of Minnesota Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy.
“There are really different types of skill sets. I’m really interested to see where they go, just because everybody likes to bring up last year’s quarterback class, and I get it; it was really good. We had three guys go at the top six total in the first round.”
“I’m completely different in my opinion of Cam Ward; I think Ward is being severely underrated in this year’s draft class. I think I have him ahead of JJ McCarthy, if he was in this draft class, I think he would be in contention to be the first quarterback picked; after those guys, we saw go at the top of the draft, like Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake May. I think Cam Ward would definitely be in that tier, along with JJ McCarthy as being that fourth quarterback of the board.”

Talking about Shedeur, Reid said that the Colorado quarterback would be in the mix with Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr. with the fifth or sixth pick.
The 2025 NFL Draft will take place from 24th to 26th April in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
