The Tennessee Titans have a lot of needs on both sides of the ball, but none are more glaring than quarterback. Their 3-14 record in 2024 may have been frustrating for fans, but the silver lining is that they have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This puts them truly in control of their own destiny.
The Titans have selected multiple quarterbacks in recent years, including Malik Willis in the third round of the 2022 draft and Will Levis in the second round of 2023. While Willis was traded to the Green Bay Packers, Levis remains on the roster, alongside newly signed veteran Brandon Allen.
However, they might not be done; many mock drafts, including PFSN’s most recent one, have the Titans going quarterback once again. An NFL Draft Analyst recently weighed in on what he thinks the Titans will do with that coveted number one pick.

The Choice Is Simple for the Tennessee Titans
ESPN’s NFL Draft Analyst Jordan Reid joined former NFL player turned analyst Domonique Foxworth on his show, “The Domonique Foxworth Show,” for a mock draft. Foxworth asked Reid who he thought the Titans would take with that first pick, and Reid indicated there is only one correct answer.
“I’m gonna go with Cam Ward, the quarterback out of Miami,” Reid answered. “I think this is simple for them. If you just look at what they’ve done in free agency, whether it’s signing Dan Moore, everybody can argue about that based on the money that they gave him. Kevin Zeitler is another veteran they brought over as well. The QB1 spot is still wide open, something they haven’t touched at all. That’s why I think it’s obvious they’re going to take a quarterback, and I am going to take Cam Ward here.”
The Titans did not re-sign Mason Rudolph, allowing him to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That means that other than Levis, they only have Allen. Reid pointed out that many analysts feel Allen may struggle even to make the final roster cuts.
He added that teams generally have multiple quarterbacks competing, and the Titans just haven’t brought in enough players. Reid said they had options this offseason; they could have gone after someone like Sam Darnold, but they didn’t, and that tells him they are looking toward the draft to solve their 2024 problems.
It seems unlikely that the Titans will want to roll into 2025 planning to make Levis their starter. In PFSN’s 2024 QB+ metric, he ranked 34th out of 39 starting quarterbacks. His return to the field in Week 18 caused his overall grade to drop from a D+ to a D- and solidified his fate as a career backup.
Levis wasn’t the only problem with the Titans’ offense. Their line needed an upgrade, hence the signings of Moore and Zeitler. In PFSN’s Offense+ metric, the whole unit was given a D for the 2024 season.
The Titans have to hope they can catch lightning in a bottle as other teams have in the past. They could take a significant step forward if they select Ward and make the right changes to their offensive line.
