Jalen Hurts has continued to exceed even the most optimistic predictions for his NFL career. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has done nothing but win since becoming a full-time starter in his second season. He has led the franchise to the postseason in the past four years, compiling a 45-17 record.
The second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft put together a magnificent postseason run in 2024 as he led the Eagles to their second Super Bowl title in franchise history. He threw for 726 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in four games. Hurts completed 71.4% of his pass attempts, adding 194 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries. Meanwhile, Philadelphia outscored its opponents 145-77.
The Eagles enter the 2025 season as the favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions and heavy favorites to win the NFC for the third time in four seasons. One former Super Bowl champion recently revealed which team he believes will be the biggest threat to Philadelphia.
Super Bowl Champion Reveals NFC Team That Is Biggest Threat to Jalen Hurts’ Eagles
The Eagles had a largely stress-free postseason, as they were unlikely to be eliminated. Their closest game came when they beat the Los Angeles Rams 28-22. The Rams had a legitimate opportunity to take the lead late, as they drove the ball to the Eagles’ 13-yard line with under two minutes to play. However, they stalled out on fourth down with under 30 seconds remaining.
“I think they are [the biggest threat to the Eagles]. I think they have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFC. You got a great offensive mind in Sean McVay as the coach. And you add Davante Adams with Puka Nacua. So, I think right now on paper they have the best shot to stop them, but then again, I sit here nervous because my man did run for yards after yards after yards after yards – he’s still running.”
“Hopefully, they don’t see him in Hawaii because he’s still running. So, defensively, they got to get better at stopping Saquon Barkley because they were a good defense. But I will say on paper right now, if I had to pick a team to stop them in the playoffs in the NFC, I would choose the Rams right now going into the season.”

The Rams currently have the sixth-best odds, +1100, to win the NFC, trailing the Eagles, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, and Green Bay Packers. Despite what the oddsmakers believe, they have been a popular choice as the NFC team with the best chance to derail Philadelphia’s hopes of repeating as champions.
