Not even a big win over the Dallas Cowboys is enough to make this team feel comfortable with their quarterback room. Sitting at 3-5, this team hosts a QB that signed a five-year, $230,500,000 deal back in 2022. While he’s set to be with the team through 2028, things have been trending in the wrong direction and his recent struggles and injury concerns may have left the team with no choice.

Keep An Eye on The Browns Trading Shedeur Sanders to The Cardinals
While it seems like a stretch, there’s a possibility the Cleveland Browns could send backup QB Shedeur Sanders to the Cardinals. Arizona is adamant that Murray is going to remain QB1 for the future, though it’s hard to justify, as the team has seen more success with backup Jacoby Brissett.
Sanders, who is on a rookie deal that is nowhere near $230M, would be in contention to start in Arizona. The trade between the Browns and Cardinals would be intriguing, as one has to wonder if it would be Sanders for Brissett with a potential pick swap as well. PFSN’s Ayden Stroupe looked into the possibility.
“Trading for Sanders could be exactly the kind of spark they need,” Stroupe said. “He would bring excitement, upside, and publicity to an offense that desperately needs it. Either Sanders pressures Kyler to step it up… or the Cardinals eventually slot in the young gun and see if he can take their offense to the next level. With star talent such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride, Arizona is certainly a system in which he could thrive.”
For what it’s worth, Sanders has yet to prove himself in the NFL. He had limited reps in the preseason, but the Browns have decided to ride out Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel. Cleveland choosing Gabriel over Sanders makes sense for the simple fact that the Oregon graduate was selected two rounds ahead of Sanders. That said, Gabriel has been struggling and has an F grade in PFSN’s QB Impact Metric.
Murray’s grade is a C, though it’s telling that Brissett has a B-. In his few starts this season, Brissett has found himself 10th in the rankings compared to Murray’s 19th-place spot. There doesn’t seem to be a question of Brissett vs. Murray, so Arizona looking elsewhere and adding a brand new quarterback would put everything to rest. At this stage, the Cardinals have nothing to lose.
