The New York Jets are banged up ahead of Monday night’s home game against the Buffalo Bills. And some of New York’s injuries, including the one that Aaron Rodgers is dealing with, could have implications for fantasy football managers.

Let’s get you up to speed on everything we know about injuries to Rodgers, Tyler Conklin, and others.

    Aaron Rodgers Injury Update

Updated at 6:50 PM ET on Monday, October 14
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is officially active and will play against the Bills.

Rodgers injured his ankle during last week’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The 40-year-old quarterback didn’t miss any snaps but was a limited participant in the Jets’ first two Week 6 practices.

However, Rodgers returned to full participation on Saturday and isn’t listed on New York’s final Week 6 injury report. Thus, the star QB is good to go for Monday’s pivotal AFC East matchup.

Although Rodgers’ Week 6 status is no longer in doubt, it’s fair to wonder what version of the future Hall of Famer we’ll get on Monday night.

Rodgers dealt with a swollen knee after tweaking it in Week 4 and now is dealing with a sore ankle on the same leg. Once one of the NFL‘s best dual-threat quarterbacks, Rodgers has been reduced to mostly a traditional pocket passer.

Expect the Bills to do everything they can to inflict even more pain on an ailing, aging QB.

As for fantasy implications, there’s no reason for him to be in your lineup unless you’re in two-QB or Superflex formats and have no other options. In the first five weeks, Rodgers completed 60.9% of his passes while averaging 218.6 yards per game, throwing seven touchdowns and four picks, and taking 13 sacks. He also has just 44 rushing yards on the season.

Perhaps the coaching change will light a fire under Rodgers and the Jets’ offense. But we need to see positive results before changing our tune on New York’s passing attack.

    Tyler Conklin Injury Update

Updated at 6:50 PM ET on Monday, October 14
Jets TE Tyler Conklin is officially active and will play tonight the Bills.

Conklin was on the first injury report Thursday as limited with a hip injury and is listed as questionable for Monday Night’s game. Conklin has run at least 28 routes in every game this season and caught 15 passes over the last three weeks, emerging as the clear TE1 in the Jets offense.

His 181 receiving yards are third on the team behind Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard and ranks ninth among tight ends. So, as a potentially startable fantasy option, Conklin’s status is worth watching as the week progresses.

One of the more underrated tight ends in fantasy, Conklin has been inconsistent this season. He posted 55 yards last week and 93 yards in Week 3 but totaled fewer than 18 yards in the other three games.

Still, he’s a serviceable player at one of fantasy’s bleakest positions. If Conklin can’t play Monday night, Jeremy Ruckert (four catches for 25 yards in five games) likely would fill in as the top tight end.

Conklin’s potential absence could also lead to even more targets for the already-busy Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.
