    New England Patriots vs. Cincinnati Bengals Inactives: Ja’Marr Chase Will Play

    The Cincinnati Bengals enter the 2024 season with big questions about whether two of their best players will play in the season opener.

    CINCINNATICincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is active and will play today against the New England Patriots despite not getting a new contract before kickoff.

    Wide receiver Tee Higgins is inactive due to the hamstring injury he suffered in Thursday’s practice.

    Higgins spent several minutes Thursday afternoon talking about how great he felt after a healthy and successful training camp despite having suffered the injury less than an hour before.

    Higgins missed practice Friday with his latest in a long line of hamstring injuries and was listed as doubtful.

    Ja’Marr Chase deemed himself 100% healthy while talking to reporters about his contract status Friday, but he woke up sick Saturday and the team added an “illness” designation on the injury report, where he remained listed as “questionable.”

    Chase was limited Wednesday and Thursday, but he was a full participant Friday.

    The Bengals ruled out rookie offensive tackle Amarius Mims and rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins on Friday.

    The Bengals elevated wide receiver Kendric Pryor from the practice squad Saturday as insurance for a possible Chase absence, but Pryor is inactive today.

    New England elevated two players from their practice squad Saturday, one of whom is a familiar face.

    Guard Michael Jordan was a fourth-round pick of the Bengals in 2019. He started 19 games in his first two seasons before being released.

    Jordan started 10 games for the Carolina Panthers in 2022. He appeared in all 17 games with the team in 2023 but did not start a game.

    The Patriots also called up defensive tackle Trysten Hill.

    The team added safety Jabrill Peppers to the injury report Saturday with a hip injury, listing him as questionable.
