The Netflix series “Quarterback,” which followed NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota on and off the field, was unsurprisingly renewed for a second season.
Since the announcement, NFL fans have speculated about which quarterbacks would be featured in Season 2. Now, with the trailer officially released on March 19, the suspense is over.
Who Will Be on ‘Quarterback’ Season 2?
Netflix has finally unveiled the trailer for Season 2 of “Quarterback” ahead of its July premiere. The featured quarterbacks are Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Kirk Cousins, who returns for his second season.
Cousins was one of the three featured quarterbacks in the first season and is back again, now alongside Burrow and Goff. His first appearance came after his final campaign with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, a season where he put up impressive numbers before the team’s loss in the Wild-Card Round.

Season 2 of “Quarterback” will follow Cousins along a much different path, as he played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2024. He threw a league-high 16 interceptions in his Falcons debut and was ultimately benched in Week 15 for rookie Michael Penix Jr.
The show has never shied away from following quarterbacks during tough stretches. Season 1 gave fans a front-row seat to watch Mariota get sidelined for then-rookie Desmond Ridder by the same franchise.
Burrow’s 2024 season will be an intense ride, as the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback led the league’s most efficient offense. Fresh off wrist surgery, Burrow put together his first full 17-game season since entering the NFL, putting up MVP-like numbers.
In 17 starts, Burrow completed 70.6% of his passes for a league-high 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. His performance secured Burrow a Pro-Bowl selection and the AP Comeback Player of the Year award.
But “Quarterback” Season 2 will also show how he and the Bengals fell just short of the playoffs.
Goff was the only one of the three to make the playoffs in 2024, though his run was short-lived. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to an upset win over the Lions in the Divisional Round, ending Detroit’s 15-2 season and providing some must-see footage.
Nonetheless, Goff was excellent in the 2024 season. He completed 72.4% of his passes for 4,629 yards and 37 touchdowns — a career-high.
‘Quarterback’ Season 2 Release Date Confirmed
While the exact release date hasn’t been announced, the “Quarterback” Season 2 trailer confirmed the show will be available to watch this July.
If the new season is anything like the first, it will be worth the wait.
