‘Who Would Ever Buy Anything With Bronny’s Logo?’ — NBA World Reacts as Lakers Guard’s Nike Trademark Is Rejected

After news broke that the Lakers' Bronny James did not have his Nike logo trademarked, the NBA world had a flood of reactions.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James wanted to get his Nike logo trademarked. It probably made some sense to James, who, as everyone knows, is the son of Lakers star LeBron James.

Maybe Bronny thought it was going to be a sure thing. Well, the United States Patent and Trademark Office rejected Bronny’s logo, and as the news spread, the NBA world reacted accordingly.

Lakers’ Bronny James’ Logo Rejection Brings Entertaining Reactions

NBA Central’s X account gave a breakdown of what happened regarding Bronny and the Nike situation.

“The trademark application for Bronny James’ ‘B9’ logo under Nike has been denied, per @MikeRothstein,” the post read.

“The USPTO turned down the application because examining attorney P. Scott Craven deemed the logo too similar to the ‘B9’ logo created by Back9 Golf Apparel, a company out of Austin, Texas. Both ‘B9’ markings were filed for clothing and apparel usages.”

BullsMuse’s X account, which covers Chicago Bulls basketball, shared an image of Bronny’s logo, writing, “This is the logo for anyone curious.”

One NBA influencer wrote on X, “Bum is trying to get logos and he only plays during blowouts.”

Yet another influencer added, “This is like University of Michigan blacking McDonalds, the logos couldn’t be more different”.

This influencer found it funny that Bronny didn’t get his trademark accepted. The influencer wrote on X, “Said they not giving his sorry a** a trademark,” followed by a number of laughing face emojis.

Ernesto Cova, an NBA contributor for FanSided, posted on X, “Who would ever buy anything with Bronny’s logo on it??????”

Now that Bronny has received this news, maybe it’ll be time for him to turn his attention toward playing the Houston Rockets in an NBA Western Conference first-round playoff series. Of course, his father will be looking to have a major influence on how the Lakers play against Kevin Durant and the Rockets.

In 42 games during the 2025-26 regular season, Bronny averaged 2.9 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. It’s not clear how much action Bronny might see against the Rockets in the upcoming series.
